The club have already put him on the transfer list, so there’s obviously something seriously wrong with him.
I think he looked decent in his early appearances but to blow out his knee, return to training then have to have another operation straight away, that’s a major red flag. I don’t expect the club have any confidence in him.
Yet still got behind them to fire in great crosses to absolutely nobody. I’m certainly not saying this was a successful strategy, but it could be with a decent number nine attacking the six yard box. And with Johnson starting his second season and hopefully improving on his first. Even Werner has it in him to get into double figure assists with a striker to aim for.
Clearly, VdV can cover LB by using Radusin at CH — otherwise they’ll play Donley (if not loaned) or Davies. Ange clearly likes versatility in his players.
Besides which if we include a specialist backup LB in the squad then you have to drop someone to make room? Who?
A kid who’s never kicked a ball in the PL and Spence a full back who’s failed miserably at this club for 2 years. You think they are perfect for any role?

That’s all well and good and I’m not meaning to come across “anti Johnson”. I’m not in any way, I’m hopeful he can develop to be the player we want.
But Son, Solanke and Johnson isn’t a good enough trio to compete at the top end of the table. It just isn’t….
We have to see an improvement in that wide area and it has to be someone that can beat a man going each way.
We’ll see similarly frustrating performances if we don’t address that. This shouldn’t be controversial.
Agreed, why do we always sign under the radar players and always seem to take punt on players like Mickey, Udogie, Vic, Drag, Kulu and Bentancur and the like..............
Compared to Gray, Bergvall and new SK, Solanke is our Marquee signing. Better get used to that.
I think he's a far, far safer bet than Johnny Foreigner. We got lumped with dross like GLC, Ndombele, Gil, Reguilon and completely unable to use or sell them. We have to stop doing that.
Toney clearly doesn't fit the bill. I don't know why it's still an argument.

Hes been a good servant and managers love him as hes low maitenance and professional. Saka done him easily for their 3rd goal though last season though. He can plug a gap.
Davies is terrible. I'm sure he's a top guy and never causes a fuss, but as a footballer, he's nowhere near top 4/6 level and hasn't been for years and years.
the fact he cant actually play proper football youd at least expect him to make up for that by putting his body on the line....nope! you get nothing.
