Not getting in an England squad isn't the benchmark.

I don't want him but Chilwell is not a shit player.

Hear this all the time regarding players.

Havertz is shit, Jota is shit, Solanke is shit and so on.

If Chilwell was on our bench we would be better for it.

But we need a central midfielder of quality more than anything else. How many times must it be said.

I think we definitely need a Central midfielder

Gray and Bergvall look great talents.

Bentancur can't catch a break and Bissouma was our main man last year and we still had a lot of issues.

This is the main argument against IMHO!

We’ve had enough perma crocks over the last five years, and we need to avoid any potential long term absentees.

Wasting a large fee, high wages and a squad place on someone that is very likely to miss large chunks of the season is just barmy.

The best ability is availability!

I hate to break it to you but the difference in revenue between Dortmund and Bayern (about £190m per annum — figures for Dortmund just published) is not much more than that between Spurs and City (£170m) —and Dortmund, playing in a weaker league, have all but guaranteed UCL income every year.
What makes it impossible to adopt the Dortmund model which currently makes sense for them is that there are other clubs between us and City and we could never mount any kind of challenge for a top four spot by selling annually.

FWIW, I think it’s a crying shame that Bayern have been able to pick off their rivals’ best players because of their financial muscle. Couldn’t have been happier to see them drop to third last year.

Regarding chillwell I don't want him. But was just saying he isn't a shit player.

Chiesa has had back to back 30+ games a season and he's at a good age in terms of experience.

It's barmy to not get a couple of good experienced players in
