They are completely different level of signings. Sure VDV, Vic, Udogie were unknown, but they were in their early twenties already which is usally an age where players can and will make a good impact. Udogie was the only really young one out of them being 19, but on the verge of the Senior Italy squad and has just played 30+ in the Italian top league.
Maddison was a coup last summer. Johnson I always thought was an odd signing, never thought he stood out at Forest that much and couldn't finish his dinner. When you put that altogether though, there's a lot to get behind for the new season last year.
It was easy to look at that group of players last summer and say, ok we upgraded at GK, LB, LCB, Number 10, and on the fence with Johnson at RW,
That is 4 maybe 5 first 11 positions clearly upgraded in last summers window and so it proved.
This summer we have signed 1 position as an upgrade, Solanke, and even that is debatable depending on how you rate Richie, but let's give Solanke the benefit of the doubt. So one position.
Odobert is highly unlikely to be a starter in the short term unless he comes in and lights the place on fire, I highly doubt that will happen based on last season with Burnley.
So can you not see how this window looks so utter shit? 1 position upgraded, compared to four or five last season.
the sad thing is, we only needed to upgrade two or three positions this window. Compared to almost a new team last year. And yet despite only needing two or three first team quality signings to elevate the squad, the club have completely fucked it. It's a shambles.
There is just no way any top club thinks signing three teenagers is sufficient. They should have been the icing on the cake. At United, Woolwich or City those signings are looked at as development prospects, not star signings.
It's just not good enough.
Now based off some preason games and 30 mins against relegation candidates Leicester, the club don't want to sign a no 6 because they think the kids are good enough.
How many 18 year old have we ever had at Spurs come in and smash it at Spurs? None for decades. Bale took about 2 years after signing to come good. Modric was about 22/23 when he signed for us and we are talking about two GOATS in football history.
Very unlikely Berg and Gray are that talented.
It's just not good enough for a supposed top club going for the CL. Shambolic window.
So basically Gomes is a tackling machine. But can't really do much else?
Like a stubborn turd that won't flush.

Yep. Pointless rating it at present. Can only really rate the window at the end of the season, I don't know how good or bad any of the signings will end up
As if we will get some big name. Not happy with johnson or son being the starting wingers ones old and the other can barely control a football. Son passes backwards more then taking on opposition now.
Some gifs just don’t workEnjoyed getting rid of all the deadwood this Transfer window. We always struggle with thay usually. Squad feels young and fresh.
I mean we'll still probably be shit but in a fresh new way

Being one of the very few clubs who can spend this window, I don’t think we’ve taken the opportunity with both hands….so far anyway
I think we've had a diabolical window.
If you'd sat here and said we've have signed Werner back on loan, Gray, Solanke, and a young Burnley winger that literally nobody had heard of despite him playing in the PL last season, I wouldn't have believed it.
That isn't anything near enough. We haven't improved the first 11 at all, despite limping in the PL since November.
We may have just about improved at CF with Solanke, but that has yet to be seen, and I don't feel he is massively better than Richie, he's just more available.
We haven't improved in CM and we haven't improved our wide players. They were our biggest areas of concern this window!
With Son pretty much needing to be taken out to pastures new imminently, we are now faced with signing two top quality wide forwards rather than just one next season.
Relying on Gray and Bergvall is just mental for the season. They need to be eased in, same with Odobert, but we have basically with our transfer strategy decided to pin our season on three teenagers to close the gap to the top 2 / 4.
It's just funny how many fans bury their heads in the hand and think its all positive when we are being mugged off by the club, every season is the same and we always fall short. Levy just doesn't ever push the boat out and pay the money needed to get top deals over the line.
I'm just sick of our approach. it's never win now, always a project which never quite goes anywhere. When we were on the verge of actually challening, we didn't sign anyone at all. Where as Woolwich go out and spend 100 mill on Rice. Does anyone seriously believe if we finish 3rd next season, the club will push the boat out and sign two one or top tier players? It won't, it'll be another few kids or back up targets from clubs where Levy feels we can take advantage.
Going into season 2 of a new project it's imperative you improve the first team. Who is our alternative to Maddison when he stinks the place out again for 6 months or gets injured? Kulu? the guy we all wanted gone last season because he hasn't played well for about 18 months, but a few good preseason games and apparently he's good enough now?
Our top two targets were Eze and Neto? What happened? Wouldn't play the money for Eze and Neto we pissed around on the deal thinking we could save money and Chelsea swooped in. Same old story, we should have bene aggressive and signed him up weeks ago. I guarantee he would have signed for us if we'd agreed a deal earlier in the summer. But we waited for Chelsea to get their act together and that was it.
I'm not a fan of Ange, but this window to me has put the nail in the coffin for him. I think he's going to fail anyway, but this window has extinguished the last hope he had of success here.
By the time Gray and Berg and Odobert are lighting up the PL, if they ever do, it'll be about four or five years from now. By then Romero will be long gone, probably VDV too. and we will need half a dozen new players from elsewhere and the cycle continues.
As ever I hope I am wrong, I'll run around naked if we have a great season, but I'll be stunned.

As if we will get some big name. Not happy with johnson or son being the starting wingers ones old and the other can barely control a football. Son passes backwards more then taking on opposition now.
So why resort to name calling like chav, whiner etc?
Regardless, I'm tired of people on here saying these sorts of things so you'll just join the list of ignored people. It saves me the bother of having to read people making personal attacks over the internet.
Good thing ManU sacked SAF, Woolwich sacked Arteta, Liverpool sacked Klopp...I just can't get down with the concept of sticking with a manager no matter what.
I don't get why people even suggest it.

Haha. The sad thing is it only really needed us to swap the signing of Werner for a Neto or Eze, and then add a starting quality CM, throw the kids on top and it is a great window
