Honest question, IF we're done with our incomings have we done enough?

Imo, no absolutely not.

What do others think?

No

You literally referred to them as deluded first mate

I struggle with you, you’re incredibly toxic to engage with and hard to avoid as you post 500 times a day on here

Have never agreed with ignoring people on here but I might have to make an exception with you, a true keyboard warrior who would never dream of speaking to people in real life the way he does on the internet
Trust me, it enhances the forum experience significantly

Well that's funny because it was well known all summer Neto and Eze were Ange's top two targets. If he's so injury prone why did we spend all summer talking to Mendes and Wolves trying to do a deal? But now he's gone to Chelsea it's all about how we didn't want him anyway and it's all so unrealistic haha.

Of course we wouldn't spend 80 million on the kids on top of all of them players but nobody would care would they if we'd have secured Neto and Eze or someone else of similar quality? Gray I am sure we could still afford on top of those two major signings players and Odobert was only signed because we couldn't get Neto. No coincidence we signed him days after he lost out on Neto. He was only a back up option. The fact we ended up with a kid nobody has heard of as our major wing signing this summer, is just mental. I sincerely hope he is amazing because we can't afford another dud after splashing 50 mill on Johnson, we will be in real trouble.

My opinion on our transfer business this summer has nothing to do with the Leicester game trust me.
Oh really? Reported by whom? Trix or Zeus?

What you don't consider is that being in the EL is exactly the year when you want to get the youngsters so you can bed them in. If we were in the CL, maybe the strategy would have been slightly different. But only slightly. Might have gotten one more player that walks into the first XI. But that's about it. And it might not even have been one you had even considered.

Werner on loan and Solanke are the only players we've signed who are over 20, so despite the good signings of the youngsters i think its a resounding no. If anyone would have said they'd have been happy with this back in May i think they're lying.

Done well on the outs though, i'll give them that but in its way that rubs it in even more with the reduction in the squad and the wage bill.

If the strategy is about a long term project peaking in 2026/27 then yes it's a nice step along the way.

If it's about this season to win Europa and/or FA cup and finish top 4 in EPL, then it's probably one or two short, unless Ange can get them really singing.

I agree, we definitely need a better backup keeper and LB and also a proper baller in midfield.

We needed a winger as well, or two, and club brought in Werner on loan and Wilson. The former is underwhelming and the latter a bit of a gamble.

I think it promises to be even more of an up and down season then last time out, at least in the league anyway.

Fuck me is the latest noise that we are done in the market, fucking hell.

To answer the question - no, we’ve done nowhere near enough. In front of goal we’re as ruthless as a nun, at the back every one of our defenders has a Walter Mitty moment per game - how can you let a geriatric Vardy score

People do it all the time with young players. The same way people go on about Devine and Mikey Moore in preseason saying they are going to play loads of games in the PL etc etc

They end up going on loan to Swindon for a year instead. Fans always get giddy and then they realise quite quickly that actually the kids aren't ready and we need to wait a year or two at least for any consistent impact.

It's so unrealistic to expect Bergvall and Gray to make any consistent impact this season. We are battling side like City and Woolwich who have proven top quality players and Spurs fans seriously think Gray, Bergval and Odobert are the answer to closing the gap. No wonder Levy always gets away with it, the club can serve any old tripe up in a window and fans just lap it up.

We needed to be doing what United are doing this summer, plugging the gaps with senior players that will improve the first 11, Ugarte, De Ligt, Maz, Zirkzee etc

So where does that leave us this season as a side when basically all our big signings are kids? Nowhere. We simply can't rely on them to improve the side this year, that's my whole point. So where is the improvement going to come from? Look around the squad and we are basically relying on the same players as last year + Solanke.

My whole point was we should have been signing players as an example, like Neto, Eze, Gomes plus the kids, not just the kids. How anyone can sit here now and say yeah great window are just delusional.

The sad thing is it only really needed us to swap the signing of Werner for a Neto or Eze, and then add a starting quality CM, throw the kids on top and it is a great window. But as ever the club leaves us well short.
People on here are utterly obsessed with the academy.

If most of them played for other teams they'd get ridiculed, but because they're Spurs, they're all future world beaters.

Nobody knows until they play mens PL football. Doesn't matter how good they look at U17 etc, the opposition isn't the same.
People will shudder at buying a forward from Holland as it's a weak league, but will rely on an 18 year old kid who plays training games for our academy.

We’ve qualified for the Champions League numerous times over the last decade. Each year we did it had absolutely zero impact on our transfer business, we still operated at the same level. Remember the window we had the last time we qualified for the Champions League? *shudders*

The only time you could argue we tried to operate at a slightly higher level was the infamous Summer 2019 Ndombele/Lo Celso window, and even that was nothing to do with Champions League and more the gun that was at Levy’s head as we had made the final the year before with Winks and Sissoko in midfield.

I don't agree with this tbh. It's got toxic at Tottenham plenty of times since 2008. That hasn't really changed anything the owners have done apart from sacking a few managers. The fans and whether the kick off or not have no bearing on any form of transfer management from the club and whoever is in charge imo.

Apart from moaning on the internet, what have you done about not accepting mediocrity? What do you suggest?
No no no no no.

What do YOU suggest?

We keep hearing people ask what those of us that are dissatisfied are doing.
What do we do?
We can't give up our season ticket as there's tens of thousands of others that will take them.
We can't get anti owner songs going because most fans don't get involved.
We can't throw bricks at people because that's what arseholes do.

There's little more we can do but moan. But we will not accept that we're a nothing club that shouldn't be trying as hard as it can to be better.

You are right we can't do anything. We can and do get behind the club but what is wrong with having a moan about it on here too? As long as people aren't going to the stadium and being toxic, but let's not pretend we are run to compete for major honours, we just aren't. Highest ticket prices in the country remember and look at our window. People start going oh you're always too pessimistic. Nonsense I say it's realism and calling it for what it is. We are a club that never pushes the boat out in a league where all our rivals do, so we are always up against it and handicap ourselves.

It's won us the best run club this week, but it's won us fuck all trophies. Levy in a nutshell.

Anyway going a bit off topic with Levy so I'll stop here.
Watch us have 80% possession and go in at HT 0-1 down tomorrow. There will be boos.

That draw at Leicester has had an insane impact on this place.
Yeah, a bit mad. But Leicester looked crap, it's as easy an away fixture as we'll have in the league this season. I get why people are angry, we have lots of promising young players, but the only first 11 weakness we've addressed meaningfully has been at striker. At 6 and RW we've brought in teenagers. I'm happy enough to just enjoy the season for whatever it will be, but people who pay to go to the stadium every week I can understand wanting more tbh

I think Leicester looking shit is a bit of an illusion. I think they and many other teams this season are going to happily give us the ball and sit tight in their own box. It'll make us look great as we'll have loads of the ball. But we're going to continue to struggle to break the opposition down if they're all defending deep within the width of the penalty area.
And through all of the "pressure" they opposition know they'll get chances.

The reaction to that draw at Leicester is completely fair and valid in my opinion.

There will be few games away this season where we will be as dominant as that and what do we have to show for it - a draw against a side that look nailed on for relegation.

That game was a routine win for Woolwich, City, Liverpool and quite possibly United, Villa, Brighton.

£65m striker and we look like we can’t finish our dinner. We laud our defenders to the heavens but concede because we forget to mark literally the only dangerous player they have.

They can fuck right off with that, I’d rather play shit on a stick football and win 1-0 than batter teams but only draw

The worrying part was that after they scored we couldn’t get back in the game until the Bentancur injury did us a favour and stopped the game for about 8 mins. After that, with subs, we sort of got going again.
I still fear the worst with those tactics. Our centre backs spend their time racing back to their own goal. We have Newcastle, Woolwich and Man Utd in next 5, will know a lot more after that.
