Look at ajax in 95. Seedorf, kluivert, davids all teenagers. Even when we played ajax in semi they had young players. Poch blooded youngsters and hit ground running. Weve done our homework with the young players weve got. Look at udogie last year. 19 last year and hit ground running.

We just don't know. We could be here at the end of the season basking in a great season led by the emergence of Gray and Bergvall.
Or they could just be the next round of deadwood we can't shift.

All due respect they were crap managers and style of play was crap. Some key players can be rested if carrying knocks but depends on opposition.

Agree. I like the approach of buying youngsters and building as think its the only way we get progress under these owners but for every great young signing there is a Gil, Jack Clarke, Rodon, Sessegnon, Kyle Naughton, Chris Gunter, Callum Davenport, Andy Reid. John Bostock was a certainty to be great back in the day. I'd like to think Gray and Bergvall look a step up from most of those and our track record has improved in the last 2 years but not sure the expectation for almost instant success is fair on them.

Because U21 players don't have to be included in our EPL squad, if GLC, Reg and Solomon leave we would have a total of 13 NHG and 8 HG players.
So, in theory we could sign another 4 players only eligible to play domestic games.
And unlimited U21 players!

At least not if we want to instill a winning attitude in the squad!

If we want to be "old Spurs", fine!

They would have won those games with their eyes shut if they didn't "need" to play 8-10 backup players.
That was and still is the problem.

We went out to Fulham doing exactly that with Ange in charge. Why should be be excused?

What in gods name are you talking about? Odobert started the last game and Bergvall and Gray came on as subs. How can they be players for the future when they are already playing in the PL?

They are young players bought to improve our team NOW. The kid we sent back to Korea is one for the future.

I was surprised to see Odobert start, and he did well.
I very much doubt anyone here saw/see's him as a "needle mover" though.
Gray and Bervall coming on at 3 up is very, very different at 1 down and trying to get back into a game.
We could have brought a fan on at 3-0 up and probably been ok.

Bergvall came on and did well when we were chasing a winner at Leicester, are you even watching these games? They are young but they are players for now. That’s why they are playing.

If you don’t want to trust young players that’s fair enough, they can’t always deliver, but they are not players for the future. They are the replacements for Hojbjerg, Lo Celso and Solomon.
