Phillips and Vuskovic are both right-footed so not sure they are being groomed for LCB, same as Dorrington, we still need to address this lack of depth there.

I couldn't give a fuck as long as we win on Sunday!!

Meat and potatoes of it all is this:
Solanke IS an upgrade on Richie, but BOTH are unavailable Sunday, so we're no better or worse than we were...

If Lankshear is fit for Sunday, he's in the Squad... and THEN we'll see what we've got on our hands...

I still want Eze... But as The Stones once said: "You can't alwayeze get what you want..."

So many in here not happy with this transfer window. Who’s would you prefer??? I think ours has been as good as anybody else’s.
Liverpool have done nothing to improve

City the same

Man Utd have bought poorly again Zirkzee looks poor and doesn’t look fit. De Ligt will get found out with pace of the Prem. the other lad from Bayern is no better than Wan Bissaka,Ugarte is a defensive midfielder who isn’t very good on the ball,in fact he’s quite basic but will make them a bit harder to play through. Yoro is fucked already.

Villa have got worse

Newcastle have done nothing

Woolwich have signed a squad player

Chelsea are an abomination.
The thing is you mention Goons, City , Liverpool and Villa - They all finished above us and I'd go all out and make a guess that bar Villa they are all going to finish in the Top 4 this season - that leaves (potentially) 1 place up for grabs.
I have said before we have an exciting squad and its hard to tell if we will finish 1st or 10th at the minute , its also all good buying exciting Young players but if they don't think they have a chance of winning something with us we will just end up a stepping Stone and feeder club.

- Man City and Arse are mostly irrelevant as they are miles ahead and we are playing catch up. Additionally Gundogan is an incredible signing and Calafori is good for Arse.

- Liverpool have an incredible front line but needed a ‘6’. That is what stands between them and fighting for the title. So disappointing for them.

- Villa and Newcastle have had mostly poor windows although Onana is useful.

- Brighton and West Ham have had on paper a good window, very good players but question marks about integrating them all.

- Chelsea if they get Osimhen and Sancho have had an outstanding buying window but Boehly environment is shit.

As for us we ideally needed a player who can cover LCB and LB so Hincapie would have been good.

It’s the hope that kills you, but I guess I still hope for an out of the blue last minute attacking signing. I know it’s not happening, but someone in the club has to see that we’re not good enough?

I'm sure Ange himself does. But can you imagine him knocking on Levy's office door today

Not sure what better players were available to acquire this season. Very few

Its clear we needed to bring in younger players, and like Poch, Ange prefers them as they are more malleable and prepared to adapt to his system, so no surprises we have gone for younger players. Totally different to Conte who only wanted older experienced players ...... hence Richarlison one of his younger choices, or Perisic at over 30 his usual choice.

Most of younger players, being on long contracts will be with us for a few years before any chance of moving on. And by that time squad will have improved again in later windows

So fucking selfish. It’s not just about what you want Ange, it’s about what us fans a want too. And we wanted a fuck load more than a couple kids and the English Richarlison. Ffs

Weird take.

The selfish thing for any manager to do is take the short term view and plug every gap in the squad.

The selfless thing is to look past the security of his own job and take the longer term view of not blocking the pathways of Phillips/Vuskovic just to get a body in there. Even keeping Phillips around would have been a more selfish thing to do than sending him out to develop.

Negative for negative's sake from you.
