Yeah after last season (in particular the back end of it) that's a poor show from the board to really improve this squad. And if the manager is happy with that and feels all we needed was a striker after what he said after city then wow. Hope for the best but expecting the usual.

I've been saying for years that fee's mask the real stinginess at Spurs.
A fee can be seen as an asset. You buy a player, you can, in theory, sell him.
But his wages are a pure liability and it's why we have the lowest ratio in the league. Even when we had Kane, Lloris, PEH, Dier, TND on the books.

Well, it was definitely part of my plan because I think when you're trying to build or rebuild a team, you've got to...look, all managers hope they're there for the long-term, but the reality is that you don't know how long you'll be there, but I've always tried to build teams that will last over a cycle which is, you know, three, four, five years.

It's just a natural consequence of that. You're looking at a younger demographic, a team that will grow, that will improve, that will adapt to the challenges ahead. So, like I said, when I got here it was a team that, even from a demographic point point of view, looked like it was at the end of a cycle.

A lot of players who had had great careers but were either ready to move on or getting to the end of it. So that combination with a different approach for me, it was definitely part of it to go younger.

What £6m? It's €6m not £6m. And why on earth would we take it when the story indicates that Betis believe some kind of compromise can be achieved? (Though I have to say that seems pretty unlikely given that our valuation is FIVE TIMES their offer - BUT if they've just offered €6m, I'm sure we can at least squeeze a bit more out of them).

productivity will determine whether we have improved (although the likelihood is that we have).

There's absolutely no way we have regressed being that everyone sold/loaned didn't contribute much last season. There's a small change we have stagnated but that would involve all our new signings not contributing (highly unlikely).
 
I think we should keep Locelso, this is the season when he will flourish. New contract in Jan for another 5 seasons. The guy is geared for the PL, he's got the height, the strength and the technique to go with it. He's WC winner too FFS.


On the other had Levy should stop messing about a player in his last year and no body wants to buy and accept the £6m.

If you look at Solanke and Odobert, already the most likely outcome is that we have. Gray and Bergvall have already got 2 apps as well and looked good.

Time will tell but unless they are all flops, it's most likely we have. Even the most negative doomer on here can surely see that the team and squad has improved, even if not as much as we all wanted.
