It's a question of how can we make our squad that has many holes and a lack of creativity perform optimally this season.
For me that is going to have to include Ndombele, even though most agree it would probably have been best for him to move this summer.
I didn't list the reasons as I thought they were really obvious but: talented player in a position we are sorely lacking, on a fortune and cost a fortune. He can't just be tossed onto the scrap heap completely, we just can't afford that as a club, it was hardly a rallying cry to get rid of dele for bele, but of course you knew that I'm sure
So are you motivated just because of your salary. I'm definitely not, I earn a fair wedge but sometimes I just can't be bothered as it's unchallenging work. I turn up because of the salary but I don't always give 100%
Also if people were just motivated by money what would be the purpose of managers?

With the 4231 formation; I assume the 2 is PEH & Skipp, so the 3 could be Gil, Dele. Ndombele maybe not in the order. So the 1 would be a rest for Kane or Son, and with GLC able to interchange with the 3 or the 2.

He can't be rewarded for displaying the level of commitment he has with a place in the side above a player who clearly seems to work hard to impress new managers as Dele has seemed to.
Legs and effort are needed in the middle of the park and it just doesn't happen when he's in there, he's always coasting.
Yes he's talented, but so is Dele, who I have been a critic of. Ndombele has never been a player for that role, the fact we're even talking about where to shoehorn him in so he doesn't have much to do defensively (and has been a topic for a while amongst his more ardent supporters here) is shite to begin with.
His mates are away, he wants out, has wanted out and looks like he doesn't give a fuck every time he's on the pitch.
At a guess, someone like Winks or Skipp will always take his position and in the 10 role, I'd give Gil a place ahead of him in a debut season as I've seen more effort from him in 2 hours than I've seen from Tanguy over 2 seasons...and he actually has creativity.
With a couple i think its way worse than petty.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. With Kane and Son able to interchange between 1 and 3 too, lots of flexibility there both in game but also squad utilisation-wise.

Some have never seen a player motivated just for the money like Kurzawa (PSG) paid 7M, 4th choice who refuses any transfer and stays for life in Paris.

I'd love it if someone went back and managed to get Hoddle's running stats, i'll bet they were rubbish. But what he did with the ball was much more important and decisive.

A sizeable portion of the flanbase think he's a huge star and will grow bigger if we can get those chips off his shoulder.
