Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

First of all, he played well obviously.
But he chooses to go safe here(out wide to lucas) instead of playing Kane through. was a bit disappointing.

He probably thought the defender is expecting that pass and will instantly challenge Kane. Ball to Lucas sets up a 2v1 if it was weighted just a bit better.

I agree with you though. But I'm lenient cos Tanguy has played that type of pass many times so it's not like he shys away from them.

He tries that pass all the time and it gets intercepted all the time and then people say "Why'd Ndombele give the ball away there FFS"

Now he absolutely should still attempt those passes because it's a goal if it connects, but the ball to Lucas here is still a good option.

Agree, and in addition, we are analyzing a snapshot picture while Tanguy is making that decision in a split second while running at full speed.

Also for all the people who were saying "that's 4 managers now who don't fancy him"- I feel to go back and address this nonsense.

Poch barely had him. Still used him (even away at the Etihad). Carragher chatted shit about Ndombele after the Burnley game, he then mentioned Poch was angry with him and let him know when they next met. So that's 1 manager to cross off the 4.

Mason? Lmao. Kid who played his mates. Awful appointment.

Jose? Really? This toxic dinosaur had us playing the shittest football ever. We were setting records for how little attacking threat we had, amazing feat considering the attacking talent. The team (full of players he claimed to love) literally camped outside the box like scared cucks because of that peri peri Pulis. Our tactic was pass to Kane and inshallah, or Kane to Son and inshallah. Other than that it depended on an attacker dribbling several players (which often Tanguy did but had no option after). Jose was so awful that the season became a write off. Even then he clearly trusted Tanguy for a long while before his sacking. Now he looks a mainstay again just like that.

It's too early to tell if Nuno has a problem with him but since the window shit and Tanguy got reintegrated I don't think anyone can deny we look much better (except The Mercurical Matt Doherty).

Seems like 3 of the last 4 managers did fancy him in reality.

(& I don't care about his wage or fee. Either way Spurs fans pay the highest ticket prices and get fucked over by the bald cunt.)

“I think that Hugo’s right. At the end of the day you need to play matches and get into the rhythm to find your form and when you don’t, when you miss matches, it always takes a little bit longer. It’s a little bit more difficult to get back,” he says. “But I will always do my best to get up to speed and 100 per cent as soon as I can.”

Now in his third season at Spurs, he has played in all the central positions in midfield: as a defensive shield, a box-to-box No 8 and also as No 10, with the most important part of his role is having a team that retains possession.

“I wouldn’t say, necessarily, that No 10 is my best position,” he added. “I’m happy to play and adapt to whatever position I’m played in. What I like is if I’m playing in a team and we’re taking risks with the ball.

“When we’re not playing with the ball so much then that’s harder for me. I always like to be on the ball and have possession. But, six, eight, 10, I’ve played them all. It’s true that 10 puts me closer to goal, but I’m happy to play in any position.

“I’m someone who always like to be on the ball. But at the end of the day, as a team, you can’t always have the ball and you just have to bear in mind that running after the ball doesn’t mean you don’t play once you get it. In general terms, I’m also someone who likes to chase down and win the ball.”

He wont get the freedom of the pitch he was gifted last weekend, hopefully he can still give us the creativity we desperately need, but it wont be easy as West Ham have a better than average midfield.
Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering, 'It will be happier.'
He is not and never will be a playmaker or a solution to our obvious problems with creativity, slows the play down too much, turns and passes backwards too often and when he does try to be incisive he gives it away more than not and makes poor decisions.
