Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Erm, if I buy a sports car and it conks out halfway down the road, I think I'd be pretty fucked off.

The analogy sucks. Tanguy's a professional athlete, we paid a premium for the silky stuff but the basics (like running round for 90 minutes like everyone else manages) are expected of conference league players for god sake.

There's a whole bunch of creative types out there in football, all of them seem to manage to play past the 60 minute mark consistently. The fact he can't manage that should be a source of great embarrassment to him as a professional.
The thing is, unathletic types like Xavi, Fabrecunt and others have made it work in the past. Ndombele is failing to even do that much.

If you are so unfit, learn to pass and move better so you're as dependent on fitness. Instead he indulges himself on the ball, trying to slalom the opposition midfield, and inevitably runs out of gas.

The idea that a player being talented means he doesn't have to work is laughable. It's modern football, there are no passengers, unless you're Lionel Messi maybe .. and Tanguy might have talent but it's about a fraction of Leo's.

If someone like KDB can be a creative genius but also run himself in to the ground for 90 minutes every week, there's not a fucking chance Tanguy gets away with it because he can do a pirouette now and again .. total bollocks.

You are delusional.

"Can't".

No I'm not.

Tanguy has shown a consistent inability to play past 60 minutes without being shattered. Beyond a certain point I imagine almost every fan of this club is entirely aware of how he completely drops off in games, to the point where managers just subbed him early because it became so obvious that his fitness wasn't up to scratch.

No idea how you're trying to argue otherwise. How many times did he complete a 90 for us? Two or three?

Wanting to leave a club and not being capable of putting in the bare minimum amount of effort to play for a team isn't the same thing. KDB wanted to go, but I guarantee if he'd stayed he wouldn't have allowed his fitness to erode to the point where playing anything past 60 minutes meant he resembled a zombie.

Tanguy's been a joke. That final game vs Morecambe epitomized him. Waltzing round the pitch like playing for Spurs or vs anyone but Real Madrid is beneath him.

And they were all still fitter than Ndombele. They may have been unathletic but they still could complete 90 minutes without it being a milestone.

One of a handful of games the guy actually managed to finish a game for us!!!

Amazes me you still have faith. Conte realized what he was within a couple of games, that match vs Morecambe just confirmed it. As soon as he saw Tanguy ambling about for that first half he was done at Spurs under him.

18 months ago........ Against a faltering team that went on to get relegated.:dawsonlol:

I remember Paulinho having a stand-out game vs Stoke too...... Once.

Per a quick glance @ fbref.com, Ndombele has started and played > 90 minutes 17 times for us.

In those 17 matches, we are 11-3-3. 3 loses vs LIV, @ EVE (FA Cup) + @ WHU. 11-3-3 is 2.12 pts/match which is approx. 80.5 pts over a 38 match period.

But that tells such a story. He's a prodigiously talented player that on the relatively rare occasions he manages to put a shift in, can change games. But he can't be counted on, and that's a disaster at the top level. Like someone like Taarabt, he'll be fantastic at a lower level where lapses in fitness and application can be masked by flair.

Everytime I see this word re: Ndombele, I imagine "you all" thinking he asks to be subbed off or something.

Bullshit.

2 1/2 seasons.
91 apps (all comps)

90mins completed:
CL - 2
EL - 1
ECL - 0
EPL - 10
FACup - 1
LCup - 3

= 17 games.

Average minutes per appearance: 5160 / 90mins = 56.7.

Fake stats anyway, mate.
