Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Château NoHo Château NoHo this is not something to laugh at, you prick.
You'll feel horrible and regretful for all the vitriol you've unleashed upon Ndombele's name and reputation if he's diagnosed with some sort of disorder?

His failure can be attributed in part to mental health issues, but his decision to not piss off to any of MANY clubs who have asked to sign him is an active decision he's making.

Saying he's good enough for RM is his own decision.

It's one of the peculiarities of our age that will probably level out, there's a weird need to diagnose and medicalize every issue. It's probably a correction to ignoring 'emotional health' for so long, but it's 100% being abused. With all poor behaviour having to have a root cause in some neurological deficit or some undiagnosed illness. Under qualified people handing out oppinions like eminent professionals.

Spot on. And whilst there is money to be made from work shy grifters and the pharmaceutical/medical industry then it will likely perpetuate.

Thing is with TN the signs were there from before we transferred him. I guess we'll never know if Poch would have got the best out of him.

I personally feel he is downing tools so he can get released for free in order to score a signing on bonus. Lord knows how any interested club would fall for it is beyond me. Aurier and his agent did something similar when he left sans the downing tools part.

Really strange post, counter to your previous post. The whole point with mental illness is that you don't always have full control of your emotions and ergo your decisions become compromised.

There's so much mental and emotional illness in football - it makes incredibly high demands on young people who often aren't equipped emotionally because they have lived in a bubble - but very little is talked about.

I have no idea about Ndombele, he might just be a lazy fucker, but if he's struggling with the pressure of football then subconsciously sabotaging his relationship with coaches or clubs might be a coping mechanism, taking him out the limelight.

This guy could definitely have some mental illness going on.
Possible but unlikely, in any case I doubt any one who's ever walked this earth has got through life without experiencing some sort of MI. If you prefix it with 'serious' however that is altogether a completely different ball game though with the sort of background staff support available to him I find it unlikely it would not have been referred to or diagnosed after all this time.

In my unqualified opinion he suffers from a condition known as a WOS which sometimes responds to a kick up the proverbial yet more than often does not.

that's a fair point. There's a nuance to that, mental health can indeed affect your decision making, but it doesn't mean all decisions and actions can just be attributed to that.

I'm willing to believe that he does indeed just struggle to get and stay fit despite his best efforts, and that poor time keeping may indeed be a symptom of some disorder, but I find it hard to believe that also applies to his decision to refuse any and all transfers. Again, I accept that mental health can affect judgement, but if he wanted out of the limelight a move away would be best.

His past comments about Mourinho and joining RM(?) also don't help his case.

But out of the limelight here might just mean a jump into more limelight and pressure elsewhere.

Again, this is all just hypothetical. he might just not want to be sent to a country/place he really doesn't want to be in.

I've read about footballers who tied themselves in knots mentally because of the pressures. It's such an intense environment. Rumours are widespread use of prescription drugs (Benzo's etc) are rife.

Had no idea about the use of Benzo's being rife in football. Just pure speculation of course, but maybe Deli was using Benzo's as his "sleeping pills" to help him get off to sleep and relax. This class of drug if taken over a long period of time, even if it's not abused, can turn the brain into absolute mush. I've also heard the withdrawal syndrome some can develop going off them can be BRUTAL. If it was benzos that he was using, it would help explain the nosedive in his career!

Whoever was in charge of doing the due diligence on this bloody waster should personally have to pay for the rest of his contract. There were plenty of warning signs by all accounts. Woeful recruiting.
