Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Except that most of us who even just had a fraction of his talent would have put the effort in to maximise a career doing what we love

And that’s the point
I don’t think that he does love the game
It was always just a means to and end and, in that respect, he’s been successful
Neither did Benoit Assou Ekotto... but at least he put a shift in!

This is literally *a Lottery Winner spending it all on fast food, porn and snail racing!

TOTAL WASTE OF WHAT HE'S GOT!

*there's worse ways to spend a lottery win btw!

He's going to lose millions of pounds in the long term over this (failure to get his full contract with us and his next deal won't be anywhere near his current one)

Kinda mind blowing really, even if you're a lazy person who dislikes football surely getting in shape for a few years is worth the millions you would earn

Like that lottery winner near Swaffham called the ‘King of the Chavs’ a few years ago blowing the lot!

Dirt track racing around his land and giving cash to his mates for dodgy investment schemes

He could be plain lazy. I said that.
I had poor mental health a few years ago and just couldn’t be bothered with anything that required any effort, for quite a few months.
I think labelling him as inherently lazy without knowing anything else about the bloke other than he’s a “fat cunt on a big salary” is perhaps a little hasty.
I’ve commented negatively about him and his attitude from a very early point in this thread but he just can’t seem to break out of whatever malaise he’s in.
And it’s ongoing with him. I hope whatever it is with him, he sorts himself out. He has talents most people can only dream about.
No matter how much money he earns in his career, he will regret not making the most of himself
He could have been on a lot more money if he applied himself. He seems unable to.
Nah. I did seriously consider depression. But I'm not buying it. The bloke has very simply completed football. At the time Spurs 'won' the race for his signature he was considered a future France International playmaker, was considered one of the most exciting talents in world football. His first handful of games he looked the part driven, committed and the mercurial talent we signed. Then we hit the wall Poch was burned out and as we dipped almost at once the bloke just switched off. It was like he suddenly sussed 'Oh hang on I've a six year contract, they pay me whatever '

The big error along with due diligence is working out how a players motivation is centered. You see it with Sancho, I'd argue Kane's another all be it very different example- weight too heavily on individual bonuses-. Tanguy just isn't team orientated he never seems that bothered about the relationship with teammates Sissoko kind of carried him initially and when he went a lot of the pretence of connection with the club or basic professionalism went with him. Look at Bissouma Maddison BJ Sarr they seem utterly enamoured with eachother. I think Hojbjerg (to his credit)also tried hard to integrate him zero result. Tanguy has got all he wants out of football he can sit back watch the compilations and count his near forty million pound fortune. I fully get I could be wrong but I don't think he's mentally frail at all.

Glad Levy nipped this all in the bud with his speech about going to university.

He’s a bit like Adel Taarabt and Hatem Ben Arfa except unlike those two he seems to genuinely hate being on the football pitch. Taarabt and Ben Arfa were lazy and unprofessional talents but they loved to play.

Tanguy doesn’t actually seem to enjoy being on the grass in front of 50k people. He always seems like he’s been dragged out of bed by his mum and forced to go on against his will. I honestly think he will retire once his contract with us ends. Nobody who would pay a decent salary will take him and as he has no passion for the game he would have no interest dropping down the pyramid.
