This. Made to play the 8 but a useless tosser so no point. He’d be our 8.
If he’d really applied himself we would have built our midfield around him.
Unfortunately, he’s a useless dosser.

If he was actually willing to work hard off the ball he could be pretty multi functional. You could have him at 6 in the Bissouma role, he'd never be as robust or defensive oriented but he could spray passes around and offer the same press resistance.
Further forward he could do the Maddison role but he could also play as an 8. Again though, that's if you ignore his attitude and fitness completely.
You forgot Solomon, and Richarlison has been more than decent, even if it was a purple patch.Ndombele, Regullon, Rodon, Spence, Sessegnon, Lo Celso, Gil, Parrott, Tanganga
AND Richarlison.
All need moving on.
Oh, and Levy.
What’s done is done and I really hate seeing his name always near the top of the page. He was a bust and it is what it is.Contract expires 2025.
Hopefully this summer he gets his nut down, gets fit and puts in great final season.
Or, more likely he does a Bentley.
We will, but what’s frustrating about Ndombele is that he’s still got the skills to be an amazing player. What’s done is done and I really hate seeing his name always near the top of the page. He was a bust and it is what it is.
We will sign another flop one day, shit happens.
so has billy wingroveWe will, but what’s frustrating about Ndombele is that he’s still got the skills to be an amazing player.
Yeah it's one of those things.. in a parallel world Rooney would turn a waster and Ndombele kicked on to be a legend of the game. With so much raw talent they're will always be someone to take a risk on a player . Who would've thought he can fail so spectacularly and end up a wage thief. Don't think the scouting can get that deep in players head and predict future.Bit OTT. The recent signings of players like Vic, Udog, VDV etc offset the loss of this oaf. The signing was made prior to recent overhaul of the football management and probably triggered it in fairness - Man U wanked 90M on burns victim Antony - filth wanked 70M on Pepe, happens to all
you can also look at Chelsea’s last 3 years…Bit OTT. The recent signings of players like Vic, Udog, VDV etc offset the loss of this oaf. They’ve signed worse players than him recently tbfI wonder if he still believes that his rightful and deserved place is at Barcelona?
Did they lose 4-5?
Barcelona Tapas in London maybe.I wonder if he still believes that his rightful and deserved place is at Barcelona?

If Ndombele had lived up to his reputation - based on only 1 very good season at Lyon - and Lo Celso had stayed fairly injury free, then I would have had no issues with those 2 players joining.I think our recruitment after the CL final was more useless. At the time we were crying out for a defensive midfielder and a centre-back and/or right-back.
The fact we spent all of our money on a player who was not good at the defensive side of midfield, and tried to play him there, is ridiculous.
We literally could have bought the likes of Rodri or any cheap version of Kante.
The Galatasaray bench sure made interesting viewing.
