Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

For the life of me I cannot fathom the keeper of the royal purse sanctioning wages of £200k pw around the same as one of our greatest ever players.
All hail the cult of Levy

He got talked into signing the best young footballer in Europe by football people. Or do you think he watched him and decided off his own back that’s the player I’m going to sign this summer?

Read the first 20 pages of this thread. We signed the bastard football child of Moussa Dembele and Diego Maradona.
This was the signing that proved Levy backed the manager.

Not his fault we bought an absolute wasteman.

Hindsight eh.

Bentley cost us £15 million.... Ndombele cost us £56 million..... the fuck?

Yes, the fuck? Financial Literacy

Bentley cost £15mil in 2008 which is basically a £50-60mil transfer in the last 5 years. For example Berbatov went for £30mil that summer and he’d be a minimum £100mil player in this era.

Bentley also cost a higher % of the clubs turnover at the time (£114m vs £460m) compared to N’Dombele , ergo the risk the club took on him was actually bigger. To make things even worse - Woolwich got a nice cut of the deal.

He contributed a grand total of 3 goals and 3 assists in the league across 2 seasons - this is with the benefit of being in charge of the majority of set pieces whilst he was on the pitch!

£15m was a lot more money in football terms in 2008 than it is now. In the same summer, we sold Berbatov for £30, Keane for £20m and bought Modric for £16.5m which was our joint record signing at the time with Darren Bent.

£15m was a big money purchase then and Bentley was supposed to be the next David Beckham. We got a couple of wonder goals from him (most notably the one against Woolwich) and that was it.

The only advantages Bentley had over Ndombele is that we never had any issues over his fitness and professionalism and he was also a lot easier to move on when we realised he was NFG.
Redknapp thought otherwise and in general clubs were in a better state financially across the board.

Bentley signs for six years at Spurs.

He was our highest earner as well.

You lost me at Berba being 100mil.

Even in todays market he wouldn't be near 100m.

Well, Ollie Watkins just led Aston to first top 4 over us in clubs history

Jared Bowen won a UECL last year...

Berbatov won a league cup with us....

Which level you talking about?
Huh? No offence but what you have written has poor context and makes little sense. Firstly Aston Villa have WON the European cup stop believing what Sky tell you there was a world before Murdoch. .... Also What's Watkins and Bowen got to do with the point I responded to the relative cost of Berbatov. A player of his immaculate ability and technical qualities would be on another level to the two horribly average footballers you have named. He was infinitely more gifted than any of the players either of us have named .: Antony Hojlund Bowen Watkins he was three times as good .

Villa won it in the 80's before the premier league but this is their first time ever playing in a Champions league. Everyone knows this genius.... lmao.

I said Berba woudn't go 100 mil today's market because he was 28 when he left for ManU. Heck, even Sonny wasn't worth 100 million in todays market and he is better than Berbatov.

Bowen and Watkins are in similar age to Berba then and has scored similar amount of goals and both led their clubs to glory. You can argue that Berba was more skilled blah blah and call the others horrible.....
Still not worth 100 mil.

Yeah...OK so we clearly have very diffrent ideas on what matters regards footballers and most importantly the history of Football. The so called Premier league is a branding exercise, the facts genius are that Aston Vill have finished in the top four of the elite level of English football. Watkins is actually shit and Bowen deeply average neither are fit to be used in the same sentence as Berbatov. In my opinion he would easily be worth 100 million and I have zero intrest in arguing with you and am fully confident my opinion is shared by more people on here than your own rather limited discourse. Watkins and Bowen and then illustrating your point with the fucking Europa conference vanarama trophy LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣

#Blahblahblah

They couldn’t sniff Berbatov’s boots never mind lace them
He's clear a child or just not very bright. It's so cringe I didn't want to be too cruel Olie Watkins

100m might be a bit exaggerated but a 25 year old berbatov would easily be 70+.

Bentley is definitely in the conversation for worst ever signing along with Ndombele
I agree if he was around 25 I think he would go for around 60 to 70 mil.

Berbatov easily worth 100mil 🤣🤣

I love how you laugh at others achievements like its crap.

Look in the mirror, what have we won in the past 20 years?

You can keep making yourself feel better living in your own little dream world.

Oh btw, we couldn't even win that vanarama conference trophy remember that.....
