There's a total money I think adjustment on players that you can use as a tool.

The same winter that Liverpool sold Fernando Torres, they replaced him – spending £36.9 million on a young Andy Carroll: £102 million today.

This was around the same time a year or so either side Iircc, for a 26 year old less successful Carroll. I've zero doubt Berbatov would have cost around 100m now. That's the insanity of the modern game.

Salah at 31 right now is worth around 50-60mil. (He is considered one of the best ever in the PL)

Andy Carroll signing is known to be one of the worst signings in Liverpool history and they never signed a player for that money ever again...

It's tiresome, it's genuinely like they can't wait to shit on our club. Fine I get it rivalry but I come on to hang with folk that share our love of the club. Throw Dembele, Toby and Jan in there and we'd have won the lot with ALL those in the team at the same time!!
 
Hopefully enic have learned their lesson to act when things are hot. We need to capitalize for the (arguably) best backline in the EPL bar City, which happened in the span of just two years or so, and a lot of amazing youth in the pipeline.

Invest now and big, in repairing our front line and midfield, so we don't need to invest some 300 million in 3 years to desperately try and get back to what our defence is today.

Berbatov was a lot better than Watkins but Bale and Kane level? Nah.. joyful player to watch and technically a genius but didn't have the all-round package to be a world class footballer in the way those two are and were.

Carrick and Berbatov were both top footballers, Modric Kane and Bale all world-class.
