Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I can totally understand the signing. He was a quality player who would have been an ideal replacement for Mousa. Chased by several top clubs in Europe we were rightly happy to signed him.

What couldn’t have been foreseen is his remarkable drop off and the lack of character to do anything about it.

Maybe similar problems as Dele.

It should have all been avoided with due diligence. I remember being shocked at a photo of him relaxing overweight in France just before he signed. I remember thinking he is about to join Tottenham who at the time had one of the hardest working teams around. Positive is hopefully such a bad error has caused us to investigate more in our transfers.

I think this is incredibly revisionist, TBH. It wasn't a transfer we didn't investigate - our interest in him lasted over a year. There was very little negative response, just go back and look at the beginning of this thread.

Massive flop, but it's easy to look back on and say we should have known better. Pochettino pushed for him and got it, Ndombele is one of the key reasons why Poch got sacked and, likely, one of the big reasons Chelsea didn't give him a large role in recruitment.
