I’m not a huge fan of key passes as a metric, it lacks any qualitative component, it’s very blunt. You pass to someone on the halfway line, the dribble round 5 players and shoot from 35 yards, and that’s a key pass.

Same could be said for assists too i guess.

The players in that list probably tell the tale though - ours are in good company.

Absolutely XA is probably the best qualitative measurement.

Your chart is also totals - per 90 would be better.

Meh. You would expect players playing for better/attacking sides to be in their by default. I would still pay much more attention to the qualitative XA90 for individual players and contextualise it with those that have played decent minutes.

Here is the thing, im actually ok with being called a fanboy. I am a fan of his.

I don't, like some, feel the need to insult and find ways to shit on other human beings just because they don't win a game of football, don't play the team I want to see, make a mistake or god forbid say something in a press conference I disagree with.

You carry on doing you - grumping around all angry and aggitated - I'm going to carry on enjoying the football Ange is trying to have us play and watch the young players he is trusting, evolve into something special.
Cringe

I cannot believe I have only just found this thread. Awesome analysis and stats. I get some fans do not like xG or xGA and prefer the actual result or what their own eyes tell them, but I have been massively informed by stats and metrics all my career, and can see the value in much of the analysis in this thread. I am also a data visualisation fan, so am really digging some of the content in here. Under Ange we are definitely heading in a very positive direction, all whilst overhauling the squad, correcting a dreadful 5 years of transfer business from 2016 - 2021, whilst reducing the average age of our players. It is really interesting what a great job Ange is doing. I feel quite sorry for a misinformed fan who listens to what the likes of Peter Crouch, Jamie Carragher or Graham Souness has to say about us being too open to be successful and yelling 'clear your lines' at our defenders when we are playing it out from the back.

Yeah fair, annoying i can find on this site how to filter out people who have played very little.
