So tactically why did we get outnumbered all over the pitch?

They had organised their high press well, keep Romero off the ball, cut off the RB’s, and none of Bentancur, Palhinha, Sarr, Johnson, Richarlison are any good under press, so we couldn’t string three passes together or transition through their press.

It was only when they tired that we were able to start stringing passes together. Odobert and Bergval helped a little too.

Pressed very well and strangled any hope we had of retaining the ball. Won every long kick out. Completely targeted Porro and we didn't change the system to give him more support. It was so easy for them. I honestly don't think they'll have an easier afternoon than that all season in the league, it was that bad.

Bournemouth are one hell of a mobile side. They are similar to us under peak poch in that sense and also their pressing too.

We went with palhinha and bents and sarr at 10. Anytime we won the ball we could never get a foothold in the attacking 3rd as richy and johnson were horrific and so we lost it amd they just transitioned us to death.

I've said before Bournemouth are a unique side, I can't think of any other teams in the pl that plays that way and it was a total miss match.
They to us are what we are to city, style wise.

Im not overly concerned, disappointed in certain players but I dont think im worried about the rest of the season or frank in general because of today's game.

Safe to say our data after 3 games says we aren’t really a team that wants to dominate games and take loads of shots but that’s skewed by the fact we played City away and Bournemouth at home who both pressed us heavily.

But we are an effective pressing team ourselves and this data will fluctuate aggressively in the next few games until all the teams average out and form baselines for what to expect

They have a stat for everything nowadays. Fucking goal kick length.

I'm sure there are some ok stats in here but also quite a bit of trash. Just because you measure the % of something and throw it into a graph doesn't mean it's actually meaningful.
