Match The Bodø Affair - Part Two: Bodø/Glimt of Nordland vs The Mighty Tottenham - 2000hrs 8th May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 2

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Can't remember which poster it was a few weeks ago.

I think when he was rooting for Villa against PSG, on the basis they were an English club in Europe. Just the weirdest concept to me, and extend it, then why not support that lot last night?

Anyway all that aside, I wonder if the poster thinks there will be Villa, Liverpool and Woolwich fans cheering us on tonight?

I mean just what planetary system.
Many Villa fans would prefer us to win the Europa League than Manchester United. Liverpool fans too for that matter. I followed Fulham and Middlesbrough and Rangers and Celtic in some of their Uefa Cup / Europa runs on the basis of them being British underdogs. I think a lot of the UK was behind us when Bale burst onto the scene against Inter Milan because we were not an established big 4 club and we were representing the UK. Rivalry aside, Spurs winning the Europa League strengthens the Premier League / UK.

Think we will get there.

I've always known we were near enough favourites to win this thing for a reason. Of course a final is really a new tournament where anything can happen. Over two legs I've always liked our chances. So I'm saying we will go through.

I think Man U may come a lot closer to missing out than Spurs do.

The long drought begins its ending from tonight.

Mate, fair enough. I get that.

Let me tell you that I never have and never will support an English team in Europe. I might not go so far as to support their opponent, although of course last night I was French through and blue, but the PL needs no strengthening.

In addition, this whole bo!!ocks about the winner qualifying for the CL means nothing to me. Nothing..

I want to see us win something of note and that's my only focus, and in the meantime I cheer when every other English side gets knocked out.

That's me.

Saw Bilbao fans travelling to Manchester at Barcelona airport earlier. They looked resigned and unbothered. A night out in Manchester beckons. We shall see.

I bumped into a couple of Ajax fans on Tuesday. Both asked who I supported. I told them, of course. Both were in the stadium in 2019 when we beat them. They said they were gutted and also said a lot of Spurs fans were quite unfriendly. I said because we don't win anything!

As I left the pub, he said Spurs fan - Motherfcuker!! We shook hands.

As if I couldn't love him any more - part of Spurs family, bringing up his sons to be Spurs supporters, recalling his nightmare debut and the game against Southampton away - IIRC that's when he started throwing his gloves into the crowd. I remember singing 'I love Erik the Viking' for about half an hour at The Baseball Ground when we played Derby in the League Cup. And when we played Norwich, Ian Walker was sitting in front of us and he was singing along with that song too.
That summer I took my 3 year old nephew to Peter Pan's playground at Southend and couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted Erik with his wife and another couple. Luckily I had my camera with me (a time well before mobiles!), and I think he was a bit surprised that I recognised him. A lovely guy when he played for us and he obviously still is.
Thank you for posting.
