Match The Bodø Affair: The Mighty Tottenham vs Bodø/Glimt of Nordland - 2000hrs 1st May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 1

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's still going to be cold mate. I've played golf in Lofoten in May which is a bit further north ... 24 hrs of daylight but still only 3 or 4 degrees. I think sunset in Bodo will be about 10.30pm in early May. As I keep telling people they are no mugs. They have broken Rosenborgs complete dominance of Norwegian football with a fraction of the budget and this is not going to be the pushover some think it might be. Must get a decent lead in the first leg and then play smart, methodical football in the second leg.
Smart, methodical football. That's not who we are, Mate.

Lest we forget: Sunderland finished 6th in Division 2 ; the year they beat the mighty Leeds side of the early 70’s .

They’re still crowing about it , and why shouldn’t they ; Fu!k the week in week out drudgery of the league: why fantasise about finishing 4th when there’s a European trophy to be won ?

I’d love us to do the double of the Prem and the Europa in the same season don’t get me wrong . But why shouldn’t we be expectant of doing something that’s ; a) VERY significant and b) actually ACHIEVEABLE ?

Trust me ; these sort of opportunities don’t happen to us very often .

Enjoy it !!!!

( PS : and to reiterate: Fuc& the League ; we’re not winning it this year. It’s , sadly , just a fact .
Can’t believe you’re giving up on the league so quickly

Not sure why anyone would be daft enough to think that any team we meet in a semifinal of a European cup competition would be a pushover?
Because we're Spurs mate, the 9th richest club in the world, with a f**king huge stadium, any manager would be lucky to have this team with this fanbase!

(Disclaimer- We haven't won anything for 17 years, are currently leaking goals for fun, and are the laughing stock of the Premier League)

This 2 legged tie might not be easy. The away leg on a plastic pitch against supposedly inferior opposition doesn’t fill me with confidence after the Tamworth debacle. Need to get comfortably ahead in the home leg

Bilbao are 4th in La Liga, only lost 4 games out of 31. The final is at theirs. They have Nico & Inaki Williams...both a real handful. Oihan Sancet is quality too. Defo the best team out of the 4 still in the tourney.

United conceded six goals in their tie with Lyon.

I can't see United not conceding more than two or three against the Spaniards. With a goal difference of +24 they defend well, and hit the onion bag.

If we beat United in the final, some would say it was only United, that we defeated a poor team of misfits & mercenaries...they'd have a point, but still such an easy shortcut for the anti-Spurs brigade.

So in that sense I'd prefer it if we beat Bilbao, a top team from la Liga, in their own stadium...that'd be a big one.

As long as we win it, no matter who we have to get past or even how we do the business...I'd take a friggin og at the 120th min if that's what it takes.

One positive is that Ange has played against them in the EL with Celtic. So he will know all about their pitch, conditions etc. Bad news is that they smashed Ange's Celtic 5-1 over 2 legs (2-0 at home and 3-1 at Celtic).

That was in the Europa Conference League, Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League that year.
