I don't think we were terrible in the Champions league final, we had that ridiculous penalty given against us inside the first 5 minutes and then we dominated possession and huffed and puffed against Liverpool but we didn't really create much.

Its worse than 97/8. We were shit but it was at least exciting and the fanbase were engaged. Even in the 90s you always felt if we could sign 3 really good players we could do pretty well. Its gone beyond that now. The whole club just feels dead from the boardroom to the fans.
