Didn't think Rashford really took his opportunity and would still opt for Gordon over him. And is Declan Rice really needed in these types of games where we have all of the ball? Could have easily played another 10 in this game.

A win and a clean sheet... Preserving our outstanding qualification record... Quality finishes for both goal..But with a bit more care in front of goal Serbia could well have come away with something... But they didnt... So hey ho
Yeah the pundits said in unison they always seem to want more from rashford...I'm the same... But don't think he's got that explosive pace to fly past players which on that wide LHS is useful.

Yes lol. He is our best ball carrier for one and our best set piece taker for another. He’s also just a world class all round CM not a defensive 6 or limited.
Too many 10’s = they get in each others way. Which is what we saw under Southgate. Anderson, Rice + a 10 gives us real balance.
Today was about preparing for the tournament and this lineup looks very very balanced. Which most England teams are not.
James, Pickford, Guehi, Rice, Kane, Saka are all an absolute lock. LW, 10, LB, RCB and one CM spot are somewhat up for grabs.
LB + LW are the main ones. I think Anderson will almost certainly start barring injury as he’s been so good. 10 Rogers has made a serious argument but Palmer, Foden and Bellingham mean it’s insane competition.
Konsa probably deserves RCB but again, don’t think it’s a total lock. LB will be fought for by various players.
I thought he showed he’s very explosive again and has shown that for Barca this season .. his issue is/was he’s incredibly selfish and one dimensional and sometimes that works well and sometimes it doesn’t.
Thought he looked very dangerous but probably too eager to earn a spot.
I'm not saying he shouldn't start when the real stuff kicks off. But tonight we were playing a team that were always going to just sit back and also let us have most of the ball. We could have played Foden deeper, or Wharton, who is better with the ball. Just someone with a bit more guile. We know exactly what Rice gives us. But I also understand Tuchel wanting to play something like his preferred 11 every game with only a couple of games left before the WC.
He wasn't bad but I just think Gordon offers more energy and is considerably better off the ball. Rashford is a perfect sub.
Rashford beats players more using his quick feet and then going past them... Don't get me wrong he's far from slow but from from a standing race he hasn't got that explosive pace to pull past players.. say

Does anyone think that, talented as he is, we might just function better as a team without Bellingham? At his best he's an elite level player. But even tonight in his cameo you saw a mixed bag from him. Some really good stuff. And lots of times he tried to do too much and ultimately broke down an attack.
I think Bayern will have a similar problem with Musiala once he's back from injury. Massively gifted player but also kills a lot of Bayern's attacks with dribbles that often don't come off, while also getting in the same spaces Kane loves to drop into and does so expertly.

Anthony Gordon hasn’t scored a premier league goal since the dinosaurs were about .. he’s not good enough to start imo despite his work rate and energy. I can see it happening due to lack of alternatives but he’s not been on it for a long time.
He's been excellent in Europe for Newcastle. Less so in the PL for whatever reason. But he's lighting quick and has bundles of energy which will always terrify defenders and help to create space for others.
He’s quick but hasn’t contributed to a premier league goal in over 20 matches. That’s not enough to start for England.
Rashford has contributed to 8 for Barcelona just this season and done plenty in Europe too .. including 2 against Gordon’s team.
Not sure Lee Dixon could jizz over the Gooner players any more if he tried. Puts me off watching.
