Well we are able to attract players altough we obviously are a cursed club, so what difference will a cursed pitch do?
Jokes aside. I really think the club should do a thorough investigation into why we have had this insane injury record the last couple of seasons.
We have had different managers and training methods, but still an insane amount of injurys.
Wouldn't surprise me the slightest if it is because the surfaces on either the training ground, stadium, or both
The explanation is very simple.
We started 24/25 with a relatively lean squad - having got in the summer transfer window Solanke, Gray, Bergvall and Odobert, both Gray and Bergvall were young/inexperienced with Bergvall not starting a match until Christmas time, whilst Odobert picked up an injury pretty quickly). And a manager known for his tactics of a high line which means all players run more than in other clubs - so its a really physically demanding way to play football, and players WILL pick up more injuries than usual, although great to watch
We started well before meeting Chelsea in early December who used all the dark arts possible to cripple Maddison, Van de Ven, Romero and one or two others followed by a Villa match when Cash crippled Bentancur, and I think we lost another to injury.
So in 2 matches Spurs lost about 6 or 7 first team starters, including both centre backs (forcing us to buy a third, Dragusin, in January) from a lean squad.
So with half a team, including most of our best players, out we bring in alternatives but having a lean squad, we do not have much chance of rotation and we are playing twice a week (PL and EL), so we have to over play all the players not giving them much rest ....... so inevitably we lose some other players to injury.
So the issue very simply is losing players to injury and waiting for others to get fit - which lasts throughout 24/25.
And going into 25/26 we find Maddison, Kulusevski and Dragusin unfit, and Solanke thought to be fit unable to start a game until Christmas. And had not brought in many players in summer so number of fit players we have only gives us a lean squad ...... and send our most experienced youngsters on loan rather than keep a few back as cover
So we start with a few injured players and we repeat same cycle as in 24/25 of waiting to get injured players back .
Its nothing complicated - start a season with too many key players out injured and are surprised when over playing remaining players results in a few more injuries.
Its basic man management (or lack of it) and nothing complicated about pitches - and that's why Lange needs to go for not recognising the problems caused by lean squads.
