Management The positivity thread: evAngelists only

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I see a lot of fans on social media saying how he's struggling compared to what Conte, Mourinho and Poch achieved. I think what a lot of people forget is they had prime Son and Kane, with also players like Dele, Dembele, Vertonghen and Alderweireld.

He lost one of the greatest striker the world has ever seen on the dawn of his first league match, he's also had to put up with big wage cuts and 2 injury hit seasons. It's not fair to compare him to those before him.

There are areas Ange needs to improve on such as his in-game management, making proactive subs and making those small tactical changes. But sacking him now just adds a name to another list of managers failed by the hierarchy. The next manager will suffer the same, and so on.
You're underestimating how many areas Ange needs to improve on.

Start coaching.

Start improving players.

Positive - At least we can all stop wondering "what if" about the Chelsea home game last season, yesterday showed us what likely would have happened even if we'd kept XI on the pitch last in that game.

Should start Lankshear against Rangers, I reckon he could develop a really good rapport with Dom.
I actually was hoping he could bring on Lankshear last night, drop Solanke deeper to have a hold of the midfield because he could press so well. Sarr and Biss were already gone by then. Yeah, I am not a football coach, but I just thought we needed some left-field tweaks when times called.

The positives is that the next two games (Rangers and Southampton) are winnable but we need to find ways of winning games when not at 100%. When we are at 100% and have most our squad fit then we can genuinely beat any team - we are a scary prospect. But if we fall below 100% at all and end up in a tight game we just fold and find a way to lose every time.

You can only be at 100% for maybe 10 games in the season. You'll also prob have 10 absolute shockers. But the 40 games where your at around 80%, you need to find other ways to win. Imagine going to the Ibrox this Thursday and grinding out a 1-0 win? Thats the type of result we need at the moment! But I can't see us getting it. If we beat them it'll be some 4-2 score line or something mad. We need to reduce the chaos and get some control! I haven't given up yet but the next 3 games are massive. I don't think we can afford to lose any of them!

I think people on here forget that Conte's only good spell at Spurs coincided with Son being the best player in the league for 3 months. He was scoring goals from everywhere!

Regression pretty much everywhere, Maddison, Romero, Son are all proven at the top level and look dreadful. Youngsters are either looking worse than when they started like Udogie or are treading water like Sarr. He could probably point to Kulusevski improving by moving him central but even he is patchy. I really dont want him ruining Gray, Bergvall, Moore etc.

Exactly, we don't have the squad to be 80-90% every match, but Ange also wants the chaos.

Listen you fuckwit, the only trolling here is done by the sort of wankers who show up when we win only to hide like pussys whenever we lose. If you had a brain you could figure that out. I was supporting Spurs before this forum, Enic or Levy and probably most of the so called fans that think brainless cheerleading is what passes for support. Now get back in your box and fuck off you slimy little cunt.
This is the guy the other day who blocked me for having the temerity to point out Ange could work on his timber a bit, and then threw a strop after effing and blinding at fellow fans - after telling everyone to avoid abuse (of course!) I wouldn't take much notice of him Tony.

To all the mouth breathing dullards who have been jumping in puddles all week, go fuck yourselves! This is the positivity thread for the Evangelists! There are still trophies to be won this season COYS

It's pathetic that the club with 8th highest revenue in the world is considering playing Will Lankshear in a tricky must-win away game in the EL

A testament to Levy primarily, and also Ange's tactics / training that result in endless injuries and shit performances.

I’ve been an Ange in guy up till yesterday because he just won’t change. We can’t go after teams for 90 plus minutes. It’s actually physically impossible.

At 2-0 sit in and let them come at us and open them up on the counter and at the start of the second half go after them for the first 15 minutes and then sit in again. At 2-0 we had a perfect platform for plan B but we make it a basketball match and far too open. We don’t have good enough defenders to play that way and it’s impossible for midfielders to cover the ground with the space that leaves. It’s suicide football.

Either Ange stops being stubborn and changes his ways or we look for a new manager.

I don’t want Ange to go because he’s got something I really like about him but his stubbornness will see him sacked.

This league is far too unforgiving to play that way.
See, this is want I dont get. Ange admirers don't pick up on this. How can you watch that game yesterday and argue that it is all just individual errors, injuries, the referee or everything else BUT his game management?

It was the perfect fucking opportunity to get control of a game after 2-0 up in a fixture which usually doesnt work in favor for us. With a starting eleven which should never have been allowed to start with the barely fit Romero and VDV. He has to switch it after going 2-0 up, slow the game down, keep the ball and drop back. No need for a low block, but just a tiny bit of control, atleast for a few minutes. Instead, the entire midfield is rushing front and back with every attacking and defending scenario - this is just stubborn shit from the coach. Yes Biss and Sarr fucked up yesterday with the penalties, but the game was starting to slip away in the first half anyway. I'm pretty sure it's not Bissouma's intention to run back and forth and back and forth for 90 minutes - he SHOULD be there to shield the defence. And the fucking pass map is a great indicator that Ange is out of ideas:
