This is not correct. After the CL final the club tried to kick on with big spending. But unfortunately due to poor scouting / poor recruitment choices by Poch we blew the money on dross like Ndombele, GLC, etc.
You can blame Levy for a lot of things, but not throwing money at the team after the CL final ain’t one of them
They too stupid to follow any of that. They still think we are winning things under the fat fired fraud.
I think if he wins the Europa League, he will actually have a chance of doing well next season. He will have proved he can go top of the league in ten games, he can finish 5th, and he can win a trophy. If he actually wins he still has a chance of being our Sir Alex and turning it around against the odds with the majority of fans on his back.
Hold on, who do you blame for getting rid of the good recruitment staff though? We had Poch working under good recruitment, then we allowed them to leave to Liverpool, then Liverpool spent better than us after their first failed Champions League final.
Perhaps Poch is somewhat to blame for his choice of midfielders. I would have rather bought the likes of Kante or Rodri and a right back to replace Walker or even a centre back than N'Dombele and Lo Celso.
That said, Klopp was not in charge of key signings at Liverpool.

Signing Tanguy and Gio was fine imo. It was sacking Poch after signing them that made no sense.
