There is still a race for 4th. We just aren't in it.

Correct should have gone then but we still bent over backwards for the count and bought porro. We then lost to Leicester well thrashed and by citeh beat Chavs and citeh at home with mk2 in charge. Soon as the count returned we turned in abject performances v Milan both haves and got knocked out by SU in cup. That was followed by some real shite performances.
If after his departure we hit someone else for remaining 10 ganes I bet we would still be in the hunt. FFS even Harry R would have done better than stellini. Put young mason with him and I’m sure we have had better results and performances. We haven't been consistently good enough since the end of the World Cup but when you look at that league table and notice how Man Utd are only 6 points clear of us and Newcastle 8 points despite them supposed to be having fantastic seasons those massive dropped points against Southampton, Bournemouth and Everton have really cost us.
The decision to put Stellini in charge was one of the biggest gaffes we've ever made. I guarantee that if Mason had been in charge for those 3 games, we would have taken more than 2 points. The cowardly Conte style of football is what cost us all three matches.
You don't have to be that good to get 4th, you really don't. You just have to beat all the shit teams.
We lost home and away to both Dippers and Newcastle, 1 point from 6 against Man U and lost home to Villa, away game still to come. League places largely get determined on basis of results around you. We lost just about every big game this season with Conte at the helm. Our league position is 100% accurate. We are not a Top 4, even a Top 6 side. We should have got a proper new manager though after sacking Conte. Might have got a bit of a new manager bounce.

I’d disagree. You need consistency more than anything but heard some advice from Sir Alex Ferguson once which was essentially get yourself a top striker and top GK and you will win matches.
