Can everyone stop with the Newcastle envy now?

They are fucking boring and their drawing and lack of goal scoring is catching up with them.
Now teams know their tactic is to time waste, defend, nick a goal, they're gonna get beat more often.
They're still a bottom half team, just one that has been able to rely on their defence more than most bottom half teams.

United are much better under hag but not buying them as in the same league as City yet.

Everyone bar City in the top4/5 will drop points from now until the end of the season. Even City with Pep's roullette rotations.

No envy, just pissed off they are in a league cup final and that they are fighting for a CL spot.

They will probably lose in the final, same as we did to United in 2009, Chelsea in 2014 and City in 2020
We're 4th, they're not. We've won more games than them despite losing a load more and conceded a ton of goals.
We're literally a steady defence away from pulling away from them with ease. They're crap. People have sussed them out and they'll struggle to finish top 6 come May.

Thanks for that reminder... :contefacepalm:

We don't have a steady defence though.

....And we're not?

We're not still in 2 cups?

Other than the points we dropped to them; there's nothing to be pissed at us about regarding NC. We haven't somehow conspired to make them better or facilitate their Saudi takeover.

It's the same defence that conceded 24 goals in 28 games under Conte last season.
Given how many goals we score, that's good. Don't get me wrong, Dier is rubbish, Davies is Magnolia paint, Romero is moments away from a red card or injury at any given moment. but there is a way to get them to solidify, as they have done it before.

Newcastle are genuinely nothing to be envious of whatsoever. They will be good, but it's gonna take a few seasons.

Massively aided by one game a week don't under estimate this. It fool us into believing we were better than we are. I'd take just two of their players and one is not the overrated goalkeeper.

TV schedule now means we play Manchester United (at Spurs ) in an 8.15pm kick off on Thursday 27 April and then Liverpool at Anfield at 4.30 on Sunday 30 April.

So not a lot of turn round time between probably the 2 toughest games we have left to play.

Is our schedule to play Thursday night, rest Friday ? , train Saturday morning, fly Saturday late afternoon to play Sunday ?

I don't think we are nailed on to finish in the top 4, just because we've lost Lloris for 8 weeks, Bentancur and Bissouma for the whole season and Conte himself for a period (although that seems to have had the opposite effect)
We will only have a busy schedule if we overturn the CL game in a few weeks. Otherwise it's the league and up to 3 FAC games. That's it.

That's ridiculous.
