Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This season:

First ten games 17 points
Next ten games 19 points
Last ten games 22 points.

Eight games to go, and it's fair to say I'm happy with our progress this term. I hope they keep it up, because we'll go close at worst if they do.

Edit: looking at Leicester's remaining games vs ours, I reckon level points is eminently possible, leaving goal difference to decide the Champions.

Which, given our dodgy GD historically, would both epitomise and, please, explode the whole Spursy meme once and for all.

Fucking good times.

As long as we're talking about it, we are NOT The Arse. CL qualification is NOT our trophy this season.

It IS the club's goal, however, set before the season started.

Right now we are in with a shout of first place in the PL, and as our beloved media 'reporters' enjoy flaunting about the question whether we can win it so much, the correct answer is that all we can do is do our best to win all the games we have left. And even if we do achieve this, should Leicester do the same, it won't be enough for us. So just simmer down, you fucking hateful media reporting cunthooks.

When is "the line" thread coming back ?

Still can't see much change from Liverpool, Cheatski or Stoke. But we can easily win the other 5. 73 points for the title looks unlikely, but it will be a record low that wins it this year.

I think we can do it still. I really do think we can. That's not to say we will; but I think we will go close and avoid the pain of bricking it for 4th place this year. COYS

Anyone else remember that thread where everyone was arguing whether record points total but 5th place was an achievement or not?

Oh yes. The battle for 5th. Actually....could we still totally fuck this up ? Ahhhhh no.

Of course it's possible, it's football. However, we need the team to focus on the very next game, just like they did all season. All hit back after defeats, move on. Next Bournemouth won't be easy either.

However, besides Woolich who will concentrate fully on overtaking us and Leicester the others have games distracting them.
City will play Champions League at least one more round, West Ham will suddenly have to play more games, United will have two draining games in the cups with City up next.

To miss out on Champions League now would be spectacular. 8 games is still a long way to go though..

and then don't Chelsea play Leicester after us? What's the betting the cunts just roll over, we're the last team they'd like to see win the title.

The fans maybe, but apart from Terry - who'll want to win his last match - those players have no affection for the club. They couldn't care less who lifts the trophy out of us and Leicester imho.

The only scenario that would cause us trouble would be if a win could secure them 5th or 6th to get EL. They won't say so out loud, but I'd think their players are clinging to the hope of catching 4th. Once that's over I could see the players silently agreeing that they're too big for the EL and they don't want those trips Thursday nights.

Eric Dier is one yellow away from a TWO game suspension. He is on 9, and the tally isn't refreshed till after (and including) the Utd game.

Bit of a worry.

I think Dembele/Alli central midfield is good enough to sit in for 2 games. I believe we all worried when Dier was suspended for Liverpool at home and those two absolutely bossed it. Dier is very important to us, no doubt about it but we have a great TEAM that relies on being a team as opposed to individuals.

Alli is wasted there, and he doesn't have the defensive mindset to sit in front of the back 4.

He flourished in CENTRAL midfield for 5 months. He got his England call up by playing there next to Dier, played for England there and scored against France and even got signed for Spurs by playing there for MK Dons. Alli won't be sitting in front of the back four, that's Dembeles role.

Isn't Alli not far off this as well though?

I think the Alli and Dembele presence is absolutely crucial for us on the run-in. We need both as much as possible but at least one of them on the pitch in every game.

I'm now getting pretty twitchy, 8 games left and bang in the race. I think it's a good thing that it's still not in our hands for now. Even if Leicester drop points today it stays down to them for a while longer. The scum's recent run makes more headlines than our league position, as does the inconsistency at United and City. We're still a bit under the radar to an extent. Yes everybody in the media refers to yesterday's win as helping our title challenge but, still nobody really believes it (or doesn't want to acknowledge it) and it's a foot-note to Watford, United, City and even Costa's 'bite'.

It is a bloody tough run-in, the teams we play away couldn't be much harder on paper. We'll need some luck, we have to be on top form and we can do it but, will we do it?? I'm of the vintage that struggles to believe we can given all the years of pain but, this team have already gone way past what I thought they could do so the dream is on.

3pts out of the MUST win 6 in the bag, I'm sorry but I think we must now completely forget Thursday; play CCV, Winks, Onamah etc and then onto Sunday's huge game.

Alli is on 6 yellow cards, which means he'd need 4 yellows to be suspended for 2 games. I think by that time it resets again, I believe someone said it resets after the Man Utd game so I think he's fine. Lamela however is on 7 yellows and the closest to Dier to getting a suspension.

The card count resets at the completion of the 2nd weekend of fixtures in April. (After Utd).

So, Alli can't get 4 yellows in 3 games, though lord he may try.

Lamela is such a card-risk, he could easily get a yellow in every game, so I reckon Poch will bench him or sub him early in at least one of the next fixtures

Cool, I definitely read or heard a comment about him and Dier being close a couple of weeks ago so glad it's half wrong.
