Manager The Sack Race

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Or is not allowed to. Which is equal parts hilarious and sad since Xabi being appointed in the first place was meant to be Real moving away from the player power culture and putting a more strict manager in charge. Yet Perez caved to the players almost immediately.

Since PSG moved away from the Galaticos only Real are left with it.

For that you need a manager less concerns with tactics and more concerned with managing egos and being their best mate. Real should get Zidane back. Laughably they want Klopp, Klopp would have Vinicius knee capped within a week of going there and theyd all cry.

In somewhat surprising sacking news: Club Brügge has sacked Nicky Hayen right before their game with the Goons. And stolen Ivan Leko from league rivals Gent to replace him.

Hayen's Brügge were on a bad run in the league, but kept delivering strong results in Europe. And won the league, cup and super cup last season.

Their fans are not happy to put it mildly.

Their players need someone who’d be their mate , a shoulder to cry on and a beacon of hope in bad times whilst also being a supreme motivator and someone who carries themselves with a swagger and self-belief consistent with the values and self-entitlement of Los Blancos and their cherished history.

Football’s a quasi-religion in Spain don’t forget.

Big problem they have is that their quality they have relative to others is in decline. The most important players they had where Kroos and Modric who dominated every midfield in the world. They are gone so the relative advantage they had for many years isn’t there any more.

The galaticos best mates, big ego, no tactics ‘off the cuff’ as Bellingham put it requires a technical advantage they don’t have. Either they spend massive on their midfield or they stick with Alonso and kill their ego players.

Their current midfield can obviously grow into being as good as Modric and Kroos. But the question is if the club and fans will be patient enough to see that through (they won't).

If we think that the section of our fans who turned on Frank for a bad November were bad they would seem like outright saints compared to the Real Madrid fandom. They and the club demand constant success and if you have so much as a bad half the knives will be out.

If Real Madrid the football club was a person, it would be Antonio Conte.

I thought Alonso was the best manager in the world, according to some on here.

Blah blah blah.
Real Madrid dictate what they want, squad treatment etc, and if you don't follow that list of demands, you're a goner.
They'd have sacked Ancelotti if his contract wasn't up. He's not a bad manager, is he?

The issue is the toxicity that comes with bringing Mbappe to your club and keeping him happy.
