Manager The Sack Race

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Word from the Netherlands rumour mill is that Farioli is going to leave Ajax after just a season in spite of leading them to a second place finish and back to the CL. The reason is that he has apparently been feuding with the sporting director all season.

Very promising young manager.

Hmmmm, Ajax completely blew the title, they were miles in front but only picked up 5 points in their final 5 games to lose the title by a point - hugely disappointing for them.

Their fans are torn because they also have "the worst Ajax team in decades" yet Farioli had them in the title race until the end.

The sacking seems to be a bit based on culture. Farioli plays a Italian inspired style (no surprise, he is Italian) and the Ajax board wanted him to play "the Ajax way". He won over the fanbase but not the board.

Don't think they sacked him, he is leaving on his own initiative.

Maybe the SPL is a tougher place than we thought ….
I believe I read that Rangers are in trouble financially again, and they are trying to complete a sale of the club. One wonders if this was a factor in how things turned out for Clement.
