Key thing to remember is, we don’t have the same manager now. Last season CB & GK situations looked very bad because way we were playing and number of easy chances we were conceding every 10 minutes., way we played meant we need real replicas of VDV & Vicario.
We won’t play such way now so IMO we don’t desperately need VDV & Vicario replica. What we have is sufficient.
Like Chelsea don’t have a good no1 GK let alone no2. They might have won CWC their first choice backline still worse than ours. They are getting by isn’t it?
We can’t solve all problems in 1 window.
If we bring in Gibbs White and a proper no6 , I will settle for this squad for this window. Then reassess needs based on how team plays under Frank

Shocking to have an experienced 3rd choice left back/left centre back who's happy to be there in that role and seems to be an exemplary role model who's played under some of the best managers in the world who all backed him.

Say MGW gets done and we manage to clear out some of our deadwood, especially in the middle. I'm talking Biss for sure, cause he's been a joke signing. Also wouldn't be distraught to get rid of Bentancur and even Sarr...but just on loan for the latter.
Then I wouldn't mind going after some exciting prospects like Asllani from Inter or Da Cunha from Como. Much cheaper than your Whartons or Balebas for a start. Clean injury records. Both young (23 & 24) but more elite experience than Archie & Lucas...Asllani's got 90 Serie A games under his belt + 33 caps for Albania, Da Cunha played 30 odd times in Ligue 1 to go with 85 games for Como, of which 36 were in Serie A last season. They're both modern type CM...can do the defensive bit but can also play. Still got room for improvement as DM but no doubt a brilliant coach like TF could turn them into top operators. They're already pretty good with the ball (esp Da Cunha), can pass it sweet and even score goals. If not with us, they'll defo be in the PL soon...Brighton, Brentford, Fulham, Palace...then in two years' time they cost 60+ mil. Asllani been compared to De Jong, Da Cunha to MacAllister.
But yeah ideally we could sign a guy who's like 25-28yo and already dining at the top table. Unless TF sees Kulu as that guy when he's fit again...wouldn't surprise me with the logjam at RW & CAM.
