Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not much. Red Bird who are a hedge fund I believe, put 100m into Liverpool a few years ago.
When Liverpool recently added a top tier to the Anfield Rd end , 6k extra seats, not one of them was for season ticket holder, neither were any for members. Every one was is a corporate seat.
The people’s club I believe, maybe not.
We have 42k season tickets out of 62k. Almost 70%.
Liverpool have 26k out of 60k. About 43%.
We get plenty of stick in the media, Liverpool hardly any, even if they deserve it.

One of my previous employers was US-owned and run, and found it very easy to get Liverpool tickets. They offered them to me as a bonus (an exclusive 'day out' with the directors) and I rejected them, which didn't make me the most popular person there.
Can't think of anything worse than being boxed in with that kind of crowd at that place. People might have notice that my spectrum is very much being an open talker, so I'd have probably dug my own grave.

How many CBs do you want us to sign, ffs??
I want us to be more clever with who we sign.

Currently we have ONE CB that is comfortable playing on the left. And he’s a bloke that is not able to play every game and is likely going to have to be managed very carefully again this season.

Hato would be an absolutely perfect signing. He can play LCB and LB and would be able to slot in for Udogie or VDV whenever they need to be rested.

Rather than signing punts like Takai I’d much prefer we actually signed someone that would come in and improve the squad.

Liverpool fans would have slaughtered Liverpool for that had they not won major titles, and they'd have been right!

Two PL titles, a CL title, an FA Cup and two league cups are ends that justify any means.

So why the hell do you want us to take United's approach instead?

If you admire Liverpool so much, maybe remember how they did it. It wasn't with a massive net spend which rivaled Chelsea and City, nor was it by going after the players that the 'best clubs' are circling for.

When you say negative rumours?

Listen, it’s all good with me to discuss BS rumours, that’s the whole point of this thread…

But people are in here discussing them like they are confirmed transfers and absolute truths.

The only thing that’s definitely true about MGW is that he’s a Forest player. The rest of it is bullshit

Which is what you've been doing throughout this thread have you not?

You've been reacting to rumours, if you don't believe them why are you getting pissed? Why are you even reacting to stuff in here if 99% of it is BS?

You don't make sense.

I think we have to accept we’re gonna be a defence-first, probably quite stodgy team this season.
I don't know.

Thomas Frank on style of play...

"Clear principles, all phases, that you hopefully will see. How we defend but also how we attack. I want to play brave, aggressive and attacking football.
"I’m convinced we will score a lot of goals but we need to be able to defend also if we want to win enough football matches.
"I haven’t seen one single team have success without being able to defend. That’s not saying we don’t want to attack. We need to be brave. A nice mixture. We will be pragmatic sometimes when we need to be."

And maybe a little underhanded dig at Ange

So you don't believe a bid went in for MGW and everyone including Romano and Ornstein is just making it up, for what?

Just to be clear I think you're saying that you don't believe in rumours until it's confirmed which is fine but then again you shouldn't be pissing your pants at our club's (negative) rumours and other team's rumours which you have continually done throughout this thread,

MGW will likely come is still my view , seen nothing to change that . Teeth pulled he comes is my gut take on things

Current squad - 25/26

ST: Solanke, Richarlison
LW: Odobert, Tel
RW: Kudus, Johnson
CAM: Maddison, Kulu
CM: Sarr, Bergvall, Bentancur, Bissouma
CDM: Gray
LB: Udogie
RB: Porto, Spence
LCB: VdV, Vuskovic
RCB: Romero, Danso, Dragusin
GK: Vicario, Kinsky

The most serious weaknesses- where we simply have no depth at all- are obvious: CDM and LB.

Not to entirely disagree, but you're missing Davies

Where Gray lines up on Saturday is going to be our first big clue into how that whole puzzle gets sorted out.

We've signed our Hato in Vuskovic, who can also play on the left. As can Danso. And VdV can also play LB (he does for Holland) in a pinch. And you're discounting Takai because he's Japanese, but may turn out a gem. So how many more CBs do we need?
