Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It makes you think what is the fucking point really. In any sport at any level its basic stuff to want to be the best you can possibly be. If you dont win, at last try. We've just given up. Its the season ticket holders i feel sorry for.
Its beyond frustrating and beyond embarrassing at this stage. Chelsea and Man United continue to buy players for big money while we sit and do nothing. We lose one of our greatest players ever and aren't signing anyone. We lose our most creative player to an ACL injury and don't seem to have any plan on what to do. Has Lange even created a list yet? Its a joke the whole thing!

Agree with you. It's shocking. We clearly have no ambition to compete this season.

Are the club really expecting Tel and Odobert to push on and be elite attackers this season? There's even question marks over Solanke as far as I am concerned, he's not elite either.

Where are the goals coming from? This is going to be a long and tough season. We will be better coached but there is nowhere near enough quality for us to do anything this season, we will just be making up the numbers.

I can't see us finishing higher than 8th.
Its horrific mate. Especially when clubs like United and Chelsea are investing heavily in players we should want! I don't give us a prayer of making top 4 this year. Not a chance. So that means any players who do step up and have a big season for us will want to leave because they'll want champions league football.

There is zero ambition. Its the same cycle of shite over and over again.

I wouldn't put it past us at this rate. That 60m we bid on MGW has gone missing anyway. All we are doing is looking to loan old players or buy cheap young players.

So I guess these are our potential options

Grealish
El Khannouss
Ramsey
Akliouche
Damsgaard
Guler
Eze

Edit .......

Nico Paz
Kang Lee
De Ketelaere

Can't think of many more :frankthink:

My expectations have never been lower going into a prem season since pre-Redknapp.

I always gave us a chance of top 4 and would have expected top 7 ever since then. This year just feels different. The gap between us and the big 3 is wider than ever. The gap between us and Woolwich is the biggest its been since their last title win. We've made no effort to close the gap with Villa and Newcastle. And we've allowed Man United to move right past us again and into the sunset.

We are comfortably behind 7 teams in the league now. We might well be the best of the rest but its probably more likely we finish behind a team like Brighton or Palace than we are to finish ahead of any of the 7 above us. This is the worst I can remember it since the 2000s.

We are looking at 8th-10th place finish, not tbe challenge for the big stuff that Levy claimed.

We had an amazing pre-season before Redknapp. Bent looked like the second coming!

Then 2 points from 8 games

Haha, we are so fucked.

Odobert and Tel as Son's replacement, that's our starting LW for a PL and CL campaign? we are so pathetic

They're more than capable of replacing the version of Son that just left.
Let's be serious, he was well past his best. 16 goal involvements in the PL over 2,116 minutes.
27 the season before.
16 in 22/23
30 in 21/22
27
21

I don't see why Tel and Odobert, if they rotate, can't put up 15+ G/A's between them. Son was being overplayed and had 2-3 thousand minutes in each of the last few seasons, probably contributing to his lethargic, frustrating displays at times.

I'd say he's an absolute certainty to leave next Summer unless we qualify for CL again which feels impossible now when you see all the teams ahead of us investing far more. Its hard to make any case for us gaining ground on clubs like Chelsea who in theory are top 4 rivals.

Teams know that so why pay the 80m for Romero now when they can probably get him for half that next Summer.

4 clubs are miles ahead of us. Forget them.

In my opinion, and inexplicably United, are possibly now ar the front of the next 4, which includes us at 8. Villa at 6, and Newcastle because of the Isak situation at 7.

That is not to dismiss the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth et al,but the top 4 seems nailed on to me, then 5th to 10th should include the 4 teams in batch B.

We need 2 or 3 real quality signings to get anywhere near the top 4, and even then.....

The Yilmaz rumours are starting again. Admittedly from a Turkish source which you can take with a kilo of salt. I think his agent is behind it, not sure why though.
