Pretty clear you can buy trophies just look at City and Chelsea neither were even elite clubs before money came in . Utd under Ferguson spent fortunes buying up other clubs best talents . The ownership have just got everything wrong post Fergie . Liverpool were appalling under Gillette and Hicks and unable to spend , FSG have been far more aggressively spending money alongside clever sales . It does seem like Woolwich are unable to buy trophies though , which I am sure you will rejoice in along with the rest of us on here .
