How can you honestly defend this window.

We finally win a trophy and have a real chance to invest with the CL money bailing us out of a 17th place season. And we just absolutely miss again and again and again. They completely whiffed on the opportunity to push on. In fact the squad is actually thinner than this time last year.

We have zero creative midfielders. We have no fullback depth. Our attacking options on the wing is Kudus and then it gets extremely questionable. We do not have the squad to compete in four competitions.

You obviously no nothing about the game of football mate.
If you watch Bruno and think he's great, then you're an idiot. Plain and simple.

Can't retain the ball
Can't shield the ball
Not a great dribbler
Headless chicken presser
Can't play the simple pass
No athleticism
Constantly turns the ball over with stupid attempted passes
Constant petulance

Anything else I'm missing? I swear you only know football through FIFA ye balloon.

Pretty sure we’ll end the window without another major signing.

If madders had not got injured I’d have thought it was a 6/10, got in a couple of first team players who elevate the team and got some funds for Son and Biss.

But having madders go down and not replace him has been unacceptable! The minute we pick up a couple of knocks or the players tire we are screwed.

I don’t really blame the board for MGW. But they must have known about Eze having a hard on for the gooners. Even the savinho deal has gone awry as the player doesn’t seem to be pushing as hard as one would want
Pure dereliction of duty and inexcusable. There’s no way a serious business would allow this sheer incompetence to continue.

What’s so frustrating, is that we’ve been through two seasons in a row with not enough bodies. The injuries pile up and the team suffers (let’s not re-litigate Ange here). We’re careening toward it again, and it’s plain to see. Completely preventable, and just plain unbelievable that this club will put themselves in that position again.

Another day will pass and no nearer to Another signing that addresses the issues.
Would imagine, today or tomorrow Chelsea get Simons done, meanwhile we look for yet another target.
Days and options are running out, Frank is going to realise what being a Tottenham manager is all about.
Still need a LW, creative midfielder and a CB, along with off loading a few, none of which is happening.
So far, a poor window and sad state of affairs at the top.

Well, this is precisely the attitude Ange spoke of at the club. No winning mentality. You don't bin off a competition before it has even started!!

Do you think 4th tier Grimsby beat United last night without belief they could win?
I wish our fans had some of levy’s mentality. We want to compete in all four competitions. We should look to win the big ones. Maybe we’re holding ENIC back.

Fully expect some news about a certain potential deal to perk up as we go into Saturdays game v Bournemouth, Simons?

Once the games done by the evening it will all get flattened and the club gets a lovely international break to diffuse the situation somewhat.

Useless wankers.

With our failure to sign the big name players, due to clubs not wanting to sell, players not wanting to come, is it time to look at trying to get good players on loan for the season.

With Newcastle not wanting to sell Isak to Liverpool so far and Isak not wanting to play for Newcastle is there a chance of a loan deal for us? Better for him to be here playing than sitting out the season.

Rodrygo doesn't want to be sold to us, but would he be ok with coming here on loan for the season. Show off his skills in the PL and CL.

Could we loan Savinho for the season if City don't want to sell him to us. Maybe Pep would be ok with this if he knew he was getting him back next season.

We need a couple of top signings.
If we can't buy perhaps we can borrow.
D'ya know what, that might not be so crazy!!

Maddison is out for the season pretty much... Kulu possibly for half the season...
You could say he's got a season-long loan to Physio Rovers... So why not replace him for a year, knowing (hoping) we get him back for NEXT season!

...and I'd rather ONE season of Isak or Rodrygo than no season at all!!!

You might be into summit there sunshine!

If we are really ready to commit £60-70m to a gamechanger AM and Simons isn't totally writing off the prospect of coming here the only chance we have of beating the Chavs to this signing is offering a very straightforward high value package with strict confidentiality terms to RBL and eye-watering personal terms that double his current basic and include rewarding performance clauses. He has the talent we desire, tie him to a 5-6 year deal and we are 100% certain to get our money back and then some on him at a bare minimum, every other club involved with him so far has.

Double his current basic? He went from PSG (already high wages) to RB Leipzig and is their highest paid player on €12m / year Xavi Simons now the highest-paid player in RB Leipzig history. That's about £10.35m. £10,350,000 (annual salary) ÷ 52 (weeks in a year) = £200,000 per week. Romero is our highest paid player, the absolute max his basic is is probably £250,000/week, but realistically it's probably similar to Simons' current salary (Son was on £190,000/w). He clearly wants a fat pay rise to move to the PL. I don't see us signing him unless he agrees to performance based add-ons, which I doubt he will. Chelsea will probably just hijack the deal anyway.

Some bloke on SC replying to Hotspur88:

"Don't get me wrong, but I'm no longer sure what's your opinion and what's ITK in your posts".

I can help you there my friend.

Isn't his base salary around 120k and the rest bonus? So 120k 80k bonuses? We could maybe bump that up to 175k basic and 50k bonuses?

He would jump in as the second highest paid chelsea player behind reece james (once nkunku goes)

Seems abit odd that chelsea have left this deal until last seeing as hes seen as worth being their second highest paid player.

Either way i dont think it really matters.does it? Chances are extremely slim to none

You can script what's going to happen in the next 24-48 hours. Big noises will start coming out about at least 1 if not 2 big money (50m+ each) signings are progressing and there will be ramped up reports on Friday night / Saturday morning about the potential incomings. All of this will be done ahead of the match on Saturday to try and dampen down the protests. After the match the noises re signings will the die down and we at best will get a last minute panic signing in on Monday nowhere near 50m+ and nowhere near the quality required.

It's all so fucking predictable and transparent.
