It really is though. Some will mock but it's impossible to fathom.

We aren't talking small numbers and yet still we don't seem able.

Nobody can really question the amounts we are offering (if proven, so just how can we navigate round it? But the club have simply been too slow in knowing who they want and the amounts they are willing to pay from the get go.

A few days remain.
Johan Lange is back from his overseas holiday, fresh and revitalised. Time to start looking at the piles of data that have been on his desk the last month.

Surely go God there are more left wingers and attacking midfielders in the world besides the handful we are failing to sign. My first choice winger all along has been Semenyo, just make an offer that the Cherries cannot refuse. Could have been done long ago. Sweeten the deal by offering Tel or Odebert on loan for a season if they wished.. and
Bournemouth just don't need the money unfortunately.

But even with a new winger, we'll still Odobert, and Bournemouth like highly technical wingers, so that rules bulldozer Tel out sadly.

That's a definite no go.

As things stand currently squad wise, controversial perhaps, but I think in his first season Frank should bin-off The CL and concentrate on pushing for top 4 and going all out for domestic silverware this season.

Well, this is precisely the attitude Ange spoke of at the club. No winning mentality. You don't bin off a competition before it has even started!!

Do you think 4th tier Grimsby beat United last night without belief they could win?

Spurs won the trophy by beating everyone out in front of them. The EARNED they champions league spot.

Did Liverpool get away with murder winning the league? Since they got knocked out of all the cups early?

We also finished 17th mate. We are I believe the lowest ranked league team domestically to ever qualify for the CL.

Let's not fluff it up. The cup win was fantastic but we had a squad that ended up 17th last season yet we've added Kudus and Palinha where others have sent 4-5 times the amount we have in order to kick on.

Levy has not made the most of a golden opportunity with the CL money and status to do so.

That EL win provided somewhat of a snakes n ladders 'ladder' moment for us - a shortcut back to much closer to where we aspire to be - and yet we appear to have failed to seize it.

With how its all panned out, Nathan Ake, Malick Fofana & one of Xavi Simons or Maghnes Aklihouche should be our new targets.

Get 3 positions done out of those 4 and we move onto the season ahead.

I don't want an overpriced Paqueta, I don't want an overpriced Lookman. Both are 28 and would be launched into our 3rd/ 4th highest fees.

Go for a promising player at the earlier stages of his career and see if they can make the most of the opportunity.

So many times I’ve read that we have enough promising kids and we want more experience…….youve broken the mould.

With our failure to sign the big name players, due to clubs not wanting to sell, players not wanting to come, is it time to look at trying to get good players on loan for the season.

With Newcastle not wanting to sell Isak to Liverpool so far and Isak not wanting to play for Newcastle is there a chance of a loan deal for us? Better for him to be here playing than sitting out the season.

Rodrygo doesn't want to be sold to us, but would he be ok with coming here on loan for the season. Show off his skills in the PL and CL.

Could we loan Savinho for the season if City don't want to sell him to us. Maybe Pep would be ok with this if he knew he was getting him back next season.

We need a couple of top signings.
If we can't buy perhaps we can borrow.

If we are really ready to commit £60-70m to a gamechanger AM and Simons isn't totally writing off the prospect of coming here the only chance we have of beating the Chavs to this signing is offering a very straightforward high value package with strict confidentiality terms to RBL and eye-watering personal terms that double his current basic and include rewarding performance clauses. He has the talent we desire, tie him to a 5-6 year deal and we are 100% certain to get our money back and then some on him at a bare minimum, every other club involved with him so far has.

It was the best of windows (Kudus, Pahlinha,Takai), it was the worst of windows. I think we'll get one more player in, most likely a serviceable #10, and have to regoup and hope there is something interesting that turns up in the next window. I'm not happy about the recent developments, but I'm also not discouraged about this season. I don't think we'll win the league this season, but I we'll rattle some cages. Historically, a lot of transfer activity happens at the very end and I suspect there are targets and discussions that aren't getting talked about in the media.

Pretty sure we’ll end the window without another major signing.

If madders had not got injured I’d have thought it was a 6/10, got in a couple of first team players who elevate the team and got some funds for Son and Biss.

But having madders go down and not replace him has been unacceptable! The minute we pick up a couple of knocks or the players tire we are screwed.

I don’t really blame the board for MGW. But they must have known about Eze having a hard on for the gooners. Even the savinho deal has gone awry as the player doesn’t seem to be pushing as hard as one would want

When was the last time Spurs made a major signing? For the most part, Spurs sign prospects and out of form players. In the last 10 years, the only major signings of players that were probably wanted by big clubs are Madisson, Porro and Romero. Club did well to get Kulu and Bentancur also (but again, surplus to requirements at Juve). But those players would have come to Spurs because no other club made an offer.

Kudus was in very poor form and put up for sale by West Ham. Palihinha mostly injured and not wanted by Bayern.

If a player is elite, and in form - they won't be moving to Spurs. Their ambition will be to move to a club that wins trophies on a regular basis.

Getting to the Champions League final was Spurs opportunity to mark their place as a MAJOR player. Unfortunately, the major signings were Ndombelly, Sessegnon and Lo Celso. Mourinho should have taken Spurs to the next level - but COVID fucked up all momentum, and once again the club signed some utter utter shite - Rodon, Vinicius, Doherty.

Under Mourinho, Bale, Son, Kane should have been the greatest forward line in Premier League history.

Oh for the love of God. This does my head in. Its like the total level of crazy you would have to be to take solice from two good results. We have lost Kulusevski Maddison Son Bissouma. We will get injuries the squad depth is pitiable. We would have won the Super cup had we MGW to bring on when Sarr tired. Did you honestly not see what happens exactly in that game having to bring on Grey and half fit Solanke. We are only playing one game a week. So Frank can prep for games individually that's not what the season will look like.

A subjective opinion.

We were beaten by an excellent side, League and Champions League winners.

Sometimes we have to accept that the better team won, rather than looking around for scapegoats.

Buying MGW, Eze and whoever wouldn't win us the CL, or PL this season.

Once fans understand our limitations then perhaps they will enjoy the start we have made, and look ahead to the season, not just become ingrained with the blame game.

Frank was never going to fix the squad mess he inherited in one transfer window, and to expect that is a pure fantasy.
