Pretty sure we’ll end the window without another major signing.
When was the last time Spurs made a
major signing? For the most part, Spurs sign prospects and out of form players. In the last 10 years, the only
major signings of players that were probably wanted by big clubs are Madisson, Porro and Romero. Club did well to get Kulu and Bentancur also (but again, surplus to requirements at Juve). But those players would have come to Spurs because no other club made an offer.
Kudus was in very poor form and put up for sale by West Ham. Palihinha mostly injured and not wanted by Bayern.
If a player is elite, and in form - they won't be moving to Spurs. Their ambition will be to move to a club that wins trophies on a regular basis.
Getting to the Champions League final was Spurs opportunity to mark their place as a MAJOR player. Unfortunately, the major signings were Ndombelly, Sessegnon and Lo Celso. Mourinho
should have taken Spurs to the next level - but COVID fucked up all momentum, and once again the club signed some utter utter shite - Rodon, Vinicius, Doherty.
Under Mourinho, Bale, Son, Kane
should have been the greatest forward line in Premier League history.
