Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm giving this window an 8/10
We needed a DM upgrade and we got Palhinha. This also eases the pressure on our 3 young midfielders.
Kudus looks like a marvelous signing. The delivery from him and Porro on the right should be frightening.
Xavi Simons is a proper marquee signing. Only downer is that the PL is so fast, it might take him a little time to adjust.
Muani looks like a potential starter too.

We didn't get the full back we needed but I guess Gray and Davies can do the job there on either side.
Also, if we do get a CB injury, surely we could recall Vuskovic's from his loan

We also forget that transfer windows with too much change can be disruptive. I think we got that balance right.

probably still missing that real bit of creativity, not sure if simons is the guy, but even if he is, the front 3 and the midfield still lacking. grealish was perfect for the left to give the front line balance, that could be a huge blunder.

franks gonna have to come up with ideas in games like bournemouth because that was a disgrace, cant be seeing that again.

Astonishing stats. But understandable given that many players were being sold at £50m +, some of whom look quite decent value, others just over priced.

Liverpool by themselves spent about £450m, almost one third of PL spend despite ending last season with one of the best squads ...... yet still failed to sign Guehi, a much needed CB, and its 2 best players Salah and Van Dyke are 33 and 34, a Liverpool supporting friend nervous they will go the same way as Son and Lloris before him suddenly starting to look their age. Most of their money still coming from CL performances in last few years and the 'recycling of Coutinho money' !

That imbalance is not good for football.

Well Liverpool got totally screwed by them anyway. Pulled the plug at the last moment leaving Pool with no time to get a Guehi replacement after they spent the day working on his medical and announcement video because everything was done.

They almost screwed us again with solomon too by changing their mind in the final moments. Thankfully the Spanish deadline went a bit over so we found another option.

Palace have been an absolute nightmare to deal with, and thats before we even get to the Eze saga.
Yep, I think Parish is trying to steal Levys crown. I think we should simply stop doing deals with them.

Question - After the transfer window, are any we closer to or farther away from Liverpool, Woolwich, City, Chelsea, if we want to be a top 4 club again?
Prob made ground on Chelsea and City but lost ground on Woolwich and Liverpool. That would be my opinion. I'd trade our window for them 2 anyway. I don't think City addressed their issues (Defence) and Chelsea didn't really sign anyone who walks into their team (Pedro will start but is he a massive upgrade on what they already had? Gittens doesn't even start. Garnacho is not better than Madueke).
