Collins is probably better than Branthwaite at this point of their careers.
Branthwaite has one foot and it’s not that great. Solid defender and set piece threat but Dragusin is legitimately better in the build up than Branthwaite
You might be right. He is very effective. IMO a much better player than Johnson. Though I don't give the latter dogs abuse. He's a decent option who knows how to put the ball in the back of the net.
Thing with Mbeumo is I find him to be a bit too poachy. He’s a great player but doesn’t exactly strike fear into defenders when running at them and his cuts, crosses, and on-ball decision making, while miles clear of Johnson’s, are only decent for a winger. He’s more of an inside forward for me than anything. He's like a poor man’s Mo Salah with less dribbling ability. This is of course a good thing but imo he’d go a bit missing here.
He’s an excellent add for a team with a coherent build-up environment and a lot of chance creation. But we simply don’t have that, our team is riddled with technical insecurity and so Eze who can act as both outlet and metronome would do more for us.

Not disagreeing with anything you said. Just laying out potential scenarios.
As we both know CBs that can play out the back and are very good defensively are usually very expensive. They aren't the kind of players I expect Frank to pound the table for.
Maybe he wants no-nonsense CBs first and foremost and will look to buildup differently than Ange. I dont know.

If we had Eze instead would still love it, of course, but I just can't take any shine away from Mbeumo.

I've already said that the stats don't tell the whole story. However, how dangerous is a player when in possession, when, apart from this season, he's not contributed a whole lot, even in the Championship?
I've also said I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt, I just don't see him as this "elite" player that more than a few on here seem to think he is, that puts a pretty large bandwidth on "elite."
Would that make the likes of Yamal or Williams Meta Humans?
I hear you but CBs are expensive for a reason. Top teams that want to win trophies understand that CBs are often the big game winners and the most important part of the spine of your team.
It’s not so much about Frank but the club. If they want to replace Romero with Collins they can fuck off tbh.
I actually disagree. Eze at his best is a total game changer I agree.
Mbeumo is more consistent.
And RW / RF is a position we are weaker in. We actually have some decent MFers and need to see what Frank can do with them.
tbh I think some of this may be subconscious coping because I don’t believe Mbeumo is gettable, United have their hooks into him already and if it becomes a wage competition there’s only one winner. I do agree a RW who can do more then tap-ins at the back post should be priority #1 for our attack.
I'd be happy with either one. Same age. Eze is probably a little more talented and Mbeumo more consistent a threat.
Yeah well that's just the sad state of this club that isn't changing .
You can basically end every transfer conversation by bringing up ownership.
There's always going to be bad decisions made.
We'll always be left short in certain areas. I'm hoping Frank can bring better defensive structure that will allow us to allocate more of our budget to top end attacking players.
Think people are underestimating how good Collins is currently and how great he can potentially become.
I'm just hoping probably unrealistically that Mbeumo is close to Frank, wants to stay in London, and that Levy will do the decent thing and offer him £200k p/w.
Last season, Mbuemo scored 15 against an XG of 7.5. Twice as many as he should have got. Will he do that again? Doubtful.
