Goldbridge reckons they going for Diogo Costa and Gyokeres next.

This Mark Goldbridge?

United have always had top players. The problem is they find a way to ruin them and then blame everyone but themselves. Amad has the potential to be better than Mbeumo but they'll destroy him by making him play wing back next season to accommodate their two shiny new toys.

United need a rebuild and to just accept they need to be poor for a few seasons.
Forever chasing short term fixes and kicking themselves in the face. They never plan more than 1 year ahead.
TBF, up to a point, you coulda been talking about Utd OR Spurs!!!

another fantastic signing for them.

They lose Europa and have no CL football = Cunha and Mbuemo

We win Europa and have CL football = Random 20 year old kid for 5m

Did you expect anything else though?

So far this window has gone exactly how we expected it to. There won’t be any ambitious signings. Sorry to put the breaks on any excitement but we are just a constant disappointment in transfer windows.

Well that’s just not true is it, because it isn’t just a spurs thing at all. Eze is preferred at national team level.

They’re both better at different things.
There's nothing you can measure on a football pitch that Eze has ever done better at the PL level. Maddison is a better passer, shooter, defender, playmaker, etc.

You can't say "player X is preferred at the national team" so he's better. Southgate is a clown that literally no one on this forum wanted as the next Spurs manager - so you seem to be grossly exaggerating the relative importance of his opinion over the past couple of years.

Tuchel has called Eze up, but listed him as a forward. I don't watch internationals, but I suspect this is because he's playing as a WF rather than a #10. So he's not really being called up in preference to Maddison who can play tgere when needed but clearly should be in the centre of the park.

Either way, it really isn't a matter of Eze or Maddison. We need both to be the team we want to be and replacing Maddison with Eze either makes us worse (my opinion) or only very minutely better (some others' opinions).

Are Cunha and Mbeumo any better than an in form Rashford and Sancho? United have always had top players. The problem is they find a way to ruin them and then blame everyone but themselves. Amad has the potential to be better than Mbeumo but they'll destroy him by making him play wing back next season to accommodate their two shiny new toys.

United need a rebuild and to just accept they need to be poor for a few seasons. Build up with young players like Mainoo, Amad and Garnacho. Instead they'll probably fall out with them and replace all 3 with players on 300k a week! Already happening with Garnacho! Forever chasing short term fixes and kicking themselves in the face. They never plan more than 1 year ahead.

I think Cunha is a fantastic player. Very polished in all aspects.

Mbeumo i'm less sold on. I get he's coming off a career year and the hot commodity, but I won't be disappointed if he lands with United.

Exactly this.
Amazes me how people expect any different, after all these years.
No matter what Levy says, he’ll never change.

Agree. I'm always suprised people are surpised every summer. We'll make 1 £60m-ish signing probably Eze, Semenyo, Kudos as that seems to be the template of the last few summers and then it will be bits and pieces signings, kids and punts. Only way we do more is if Romero or Richarlison go.

Us and Utd post Europa is going to be like us and Woolwich when we pipped them to 4th. Those clubs take it as a kick up the arse, we just meander on doing the same thing, CL or not.

I think Mbeumo and Cunha would start for us, or at least offer excellent attacking options for us. so I'm pretty jealous that United can attract that quality of player when they're essentially in the bin at the moment
