Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Breaking News.

THFC have agreed a price on anything that reksres Breaking News on club signings. No income as yet or expected until January 2026, at a crisis meeting.

Signings?. Don't be silly. When you win a trophy and finish 17th in the bread and butter element,it's not a question of building a squad but pashence bruv.

sure but i don't think it's as common with lesser clubs. we're the lower tier of the giants so not sure top players are really that anxious to get out there and say tottenham 'til i die just so we can save a few quid when we're likely low balling them on wages too. a lot of these players don't want bad blood on the way out and likely want their current club to make as much as possible from the sale. does kudus really want to become even more of a villain by being seen as forcing the sale to a rival? i don't know, a classier club tries to shield the player rather than pressuring him to go out and flog the sale. (if that's what's happening here)
I think pretty much all deals are done between the buying club and the player before the selling club even know about it, once the player has it in their head that's where they're going and that's what they're going to be paid then the buying club is inevitably and intentionally in a stronger position.

I don't know Mohammed Kudus but I doubt he gives a solitary fuck about leaving that shithouse of a club and is probably fairly excited about playing at WHL and in the CL as we're a pretty big step up from the Pikeys, whatever they might think...

TL : DR I don't think this is shady dan trying to get a deal type stuff

Swap for Luis. Yes I know swaps hardly ever happen but this one makes sense. Having said that Luis is not my preferred 6 but he’s better than Biz in that position
He's had an absolutely shite season at Juve, played less than 900 mins in all comps for them, and got 4 years to run on an £180k/week deal, doubtful over that being an easy deal to do as Juve will want a good amount of what they paid back for him as well as the player wanting a contract that matches or betters what he's already guaranteed at Juve. They will want like £25-30m on top of Biss for Luiz since Biss is out of contract next summer as well.

Frank wants to work with Solomon and for an opinion, like that of the rest of the squad, Gil i think is already considered surplus to requirements.

Solomon was Leeds player of the season and deservedly so. I think his early injury with us, and Ange not fancying him led to his loan.

He would improve us, and with the amount of games we face would be a good addition.

Gut feeling is that we will sell him to Leeds.
If we are really trying to improve the squad Solomon should come in and Mikey or Odobert should be loaned. Solomon is much better than both of them.

sure lets make it a 100 mil then

Always good to see another pre-season getting underway. I'm glad we have a very comprehensive coaching setup and all of frank is wanting.
Exciting to see what progression cochrane can make with the younger players we have. Despite being so downbeat about our transfer strategies I'm happy we made the choices we did regarding the coach and setup. It felt so headless chicken under ange.

Edit...

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we started slow. We have quite a few players that we bought under ange that although are talented have never experienced this level of coaching. It's likely alot for those players to consistently do what is asked and grasp it fully and many mistakes will be made. There's alot of potential growth though that is for sure.

I believe that we will see a more cohesive, progressive system where every player knows his responsibilities, set piece positions (attack and defence) and defending as a unit.

Central midfield is key and I still think we will strengthen in that area (especially if reports of Bissouma leaving) are true.

I don't think we will start slow for pace on the pitch, but maybe will struggle for rhythm for the first few games.

The key to next season is to make our home a fortress, something I think Frank will insist on.

As an aside I read today that Modric is off to AC Milan next season.

At thirty nine and winning more trophies than you can shake a stick at it just shows the commitment of the little gem.

He was a magical player for us, and a talisman for Madrid.

To think he was Madrid’s ‘worst signing ever’ after his first season

Evidence to suggest even the world’s very best players can struggle to settle right away

But next summer he will be worth even less with only a year left on his contract
a year with a world class cb leading up to a world cup is worth more, especially with a new coach. keeping cuti for another year will be huge. he probably wants to go to spain but i don't think he's going to make a big stink. once the season starts he'll be committed and if we get some positive momentum who knows? he might stay

sure all true but if the negotiations drag on the player gets sick of hanging in limbo and the buying club starts pressuring him to make it harder for the selling club. if i'm the player i'm like, pay the money mr. levy!

Modric made little effort in his last year because he could not join Real.

Some strange with the loans to Turkish CL s. Duran is off to Turkey as well on loan. Not sure how they afford his wages. £70M transfer from Villa in Jan to Saudi and now loaned to fenerbache I think.
They probably only pay a percentage of his wages - the rest covered by his Saudi club. I suspect that's also why he hasn't been sold; Duran still wants his massive wages but no one in Europe can afford them, so a loan spell was the only solution.
