Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The main issue is people believing (and, in a worrying sense, some people wanting to believe) the circus crap out there on twitter. The club has no more leaks. All that is left is guessing. The weirdos that loved their adulation as "ITK" are not going to just hand up their keyboards, but are very much going to carry on guessing stuff. People need to bear in mind that all they are doing is guessing.

I absolutely expect that the first time we'll know about a lot of our incomings is when the club announces it. Not via "Logistics Manager/Pub DJ" O'keefe, not by "My fishing friend is an agent" on SC, or "I can't spell but I'm trusted with secrets" on SC, and not from "Nigel, aged 38, lives with his mum. Did a journalism degree in uni, but no one will employ me" on twitter.

It's almost certain that Frank will be planning acquisitions with the scouting team and Lange. He might not want Eze, and people will just have to deal with that. He might want some random dane from Superliga. So long as Frank is happy and the scouting team are happy.

100% to that sentimrnt, but much is about building confidence abd momentum.

I think that's what is required, partly driven by the actions of other clubs, rightly or wrongly.

I have long maintained that neither individuals and organisations don't and shouldn't always live up to their reputation

He’s an excellent player and has shown at his best how good he can be, thought he was immense in the euro run. Ok, consistency needs addressing and he can be guilty of a silly yellow but his natural skill set is excellent.

Let’s not forget he was out for 9months or so then another 3 almost immediately with injuries. Had a 7 game ban for being an idiot . All these stops don’t do anyone any good

Wow! We’ve only gone and done it!

Yes, believe it or not, TUMI have been named as our Official Luggage & Travel Accessories Partner.

Who needs new players when you can spend £1,000 on a cabin bag or £2,000 on a fucking hold suitcase?

In 10 years time whats remembered.

I remember poch and its the best ive ever seem Tottenham be but other fans not so much . Let the scum celebrate their almost wins, i wont.
We keep saying this
But I remember how shit we were when we won the league cup in 08.
I remember we were on the downward spiral.
I will remember forever how useless we were this season and what a shit final it was in so many regards.
It has been tainted.

- 2017/18 against Man Utd, who finished second in the league
- 2016/17 against Chelsea, who won the league
- 2011/12 against Chelsea

2009/10 against portsmouth with what I remember as a slippy pitch is probably the only one.

I don't know where 8 has come from unless you go back well into the previous century.

Our league cup finals since 2008 have been against Man Utd, Chelsea, and Man City. All at their peak powers.

I think you're mistaking over-performing in a lot of the above for "bottling" it. Even if we won that game against West Ham we'd have been level on points with Leicester. That Leicester who were on an unbeaten run and lost only 1 game in 2016 and 3 all season.
Not going unbeaten isn't "bottling" it - it's a complete misappropriation of the phrase, and belittles over-performing. If not going top of the league, and not winning a SF is 'bottling it', then all but one club 'bottles' it every season

Not least, it shits over one of the greatest phrases associated with the club:

It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. At Spurs we set our sights very high, so that even failure will have in it an echo of glory.
It doesn't matter, we have had so many chances that we have pilfered.

Not saying we should have won all of them, but some of them.

It was clearly Pochs decision but at some level the club failed to keep the squad fresh
Again, stupid of a decision as that would have been (and I don't fully believe the reporting on it), declining a Tielemans deal, which was in January anyway, is not the same thing as embargoing all incoming players for an entire summer.

It's ludicrous to suggest Poch demanded no incomings, can be dismissed out of hand, not to be taken seriously, period.

And ultimately, a process breakdown so severe that the only empty summer in the history of the Premier League was the result falls squarely on the club leadership regardless of the particulars.

Around the time of the dodgy wiring fiasco at the new stadium Spurs just broke as a football operation, it ceased to function. A disgraceful leadership failure that caused enormous long-lasting damage we're only just now digging our way out of.

It's almost certain that Frank will be planning acquisitions with the scouting team and Lange. He might not want Eze, and people will just have to deal with that. He might want some random dane from Superliga. So long as Frank is happy and the scouting team are happy.
If he'd prefer some random dane from Superliga over proven quality like Eberechi Eze than tbh he shouldn't be managing a club like Tottenham Hotspur
