Udogie can be great, but can also be average. I’d put Robinson way ahead of him right now.

It’s the kind of signing we all want to make, no?

Don’t sign backups. Sign first teamers that turn the old first teamer into the backup.

Again I agree. My initial reply to you was based on you're opinion that Robinson would be roughly 50m (20m more than the 30m i said) and i was just saying it seems unrealistic that we would do that considering we had udogie who is highly rated. We need another lb, but a 40-50m one on top of a good one we already have?

I'd love it if we signed him, 2 quality options to have. It's completely the sort of thing we should do.

But maybe we are selling destiny? We paid circa 20m? We could double that easily to the right buyer, napoli perhaps?

Robinson way ahead of Udogie is a wild take

Robinson is a great runner and he spams loads of crosses in but he’s never getting in an Italian squad in a million years.

He’s one of those players that fans will overrate until he’s at their club.

Listen back to Maddison interview answers about Udogie and his ability to technically play as a midfielder. Sth like “you can really ping it into him in tight spaces and he can control it first touch and keep it”.

I think udogie along with gray, bergavll, Tel, vdv have huge growth potential.

In fact I think vitually every player we have under the age of 24 has huge potential. We signed well but they need better coaching and structured ways of playing rather than zig zag all over the place, freestyle angeball.

We have quite a few potential worldies

Udogie needs a kick up the backside because he's had 0 competition for his place therfore he's got really lazy...A player like Robinson will give him that, they will both Duke it out for mins and push their levels up, perfect scenario.

Can't see us signing Robinson mind you, we don't really do sensible shit like that.

Made my feelings on Postecoglou and his coaching staffs abilities clear over the last 15 months and some players will now improve. But this squad lacks quality depth, leadership and losing doesnt hurt the majority enough, we saw that last season. It needs a lot of work. I like Frank but he's not a miracle worker. He isnt going to make Bissouma consistant or Richarlison fit or Son 4 years younger.

Which is why they're the obvious players to move on.

Chelsea’s manager has even less experience of even managing a big club before he joined them. What about Slot, didn’t exactly come from one of the major leagues.
Agree - not saying conclusively one way or the other but there are plenty of examples of managers failing to take the step too. Many under Levy

If I was a player, I would be sceptical of Frank. I don’t think he has the aura needed but I could be wrong

One thing you can guarantee is he will have one arm behind his back…. Won’t get his desired players, won’t move players he doesn’t want until 31st Aug and will be undermined. I won’t have any ambiguity there!

If I was a player I'd be looking at what he got out of the likes of Toney, Mbuemo, Watkins, Benhrama, Lewis Potter et all and be rubbing my hands then again I suppose it ultimately depends on your motivations on playing football are.

Not that good defensively, other than being statistically one of the best 1v1 defenders in the league
"Not good enough" implies that he's good, but that he has limitations. I don't think that's incorrect or harsh, but you're entitled to your opinion...and we all know what you're like with your faves but eh oh.

Do I start Udogie if my aim is to finish top 6-10? Yep. Do I start him if I'm serious about challenging for the title? Nope. Again, that's just something called my opinion and I'm basing it on what I've seen to date.

As I said, Boehly is not a lifelong Chelsea fan as Sir Jack Walker was for Blackburn. He is not plowing his personal money into Chelsea at a loss to achieve something. It is an investment which requires returns.
He is betting that the value of English football is undervalued and thinks a superleague will mean clubs will be values near NFL teams in the future. He wants to pump money into Chelsea because of that. They want to invest their own money but the rules prevent this. Overvaluing those assets is allowing them to circumnavigate those rules.

Its not about loss or profit from those overvalued assets, they dont care. Its about getting around rules to pump in more money.
