No... It's just bleedin' obvious.

At least you're able to take responsibility for your own imagination...... It seems plenty aren't.
So nothing in response to the rest of it. Yeah it is probably obvious. What I’m trying to get at it’s obvious Levy doesn’t really believe that, blindingly obvious. Something that nearly happened once in 26 years with all those circumstances is not a model that is repeatable in his time here and you’re here saying that’s what he’s thinking. Absolute disingenuous bullshit and you know it. the only thing we’re guilty of is tentatively giving him the benefit of the doubt that he’s being honest with the fans and altering ENIC approach.

Well; you just concurred that he likely is thinking what i suggested, so I'm not really sure what you're taking me to task over.

Absolute disingenuous bullshit and you know it.

From him or me?

If the latter; then no..... I absolutely believe he thinks something will click and we'll get another stab at one of the 2 big trophies.

the only thing we’re guilty of is tentatively giving him the benefit of the doubt that he’s being honest with the fans and altering ENIC approach.

So you're acknowledging that there is an ENIC "approach" (aka "model") afterall then?

FWIW; I'll tell you what I think it is:

- Sustainability.
- Maximising peripheral revenue streams
- Spending basically on par with our wealth compared to the rest of our league (i.e. 5th/6th richest prior to new Newcastle & Villa ownerships).
- Taking exponential strides by means of (ahem) scouting 'windfalls' (eg Bale, Berba, Modrich, Eriksen) and talent with room to grow; alongside managers being good enough to make us more than the sum of our parts by coaching those players to their perceived potential(*).

......By all means tell me if you think any of them are incorrect perceptions of Levy's intent on my part.

(*Were Conte & Jose a deviation from the last part... Absolutely; but both Ange & Frank would imply a return to 'type'.)

No, Im pretty sure he’s not thinking that at all. i meant unfortunately it’s looking like it’s probably true that he’s not going to change how they run it. But I don’t truly believe he thinks a 1 in 26 model in where we only came close in circumstances that won’t repeat in his lifetime is a good model for football success or one where he’s confident enough to tell the fans he wants to win both. Unless he’s stupid.

Common sense would tell you if he’s coming out with that he’s going to change his model, maybe to one more like the teams that actually do challenge those titles year on year and the type of investment needed would you not agree. Calling people stupid for thinking that is funny.

I'm pretty sure Son would do impressive stuff in the championship.

Solomon is 25. He already had time in the premier league and only look good in bits and bobs. Jack Clarke last season stood out in the championship.

We will probably get decent money for him now ... take it and invest it elsewhere.

He was Leeds player of the season.

Was outstanding for them and played well for us up until his injury. Ange didn't fancy him brought in Werner, a splendid piece of business.

Looks like Frank wants to take a look at him pre-season.

Leeds want to sign him and you can understand why, he would be a great addition to our squad.

For a player that you dismiss so easily why do you then think we will get "decent" money for him?

It looks like levy has pulled the wool over fans eyes yet again. The "I want to win the PL and CL" are certainly not backed up by getting players in early so a manager can properly prepare for pre season.

Nothing changes at this club until these parasites leave, we are one of the top 10 richest clubs in the world but we shop at Lidl because our owners act like cheapskates. Get the players in and pay the wages it takes to do so, you malignant bald twat.

Frank has been here what three weeks?

Two signings made before he officially started?

You don't want him to spend any time with the squad, just buy, buy, buy without any hands on experience of our current players?

Football Manager has a lot to answer for.

If Levy was the chairman in 70s, we wouldn't have signed Ardiles and Villa.
If Levy was the chairman in 80s, we wouldn't have signed Lineker, Gascoigne, Clive Allen, Gough, Waddle, etc.
If Levy was the chairman in 90s, we wouldn't have signed Klinsmann, Sheringham, Anderton, etc.

£60 million for 5 goals and I think 3 assists. Bargain!

:frankwtf:

Presumably you'd rather have Johnson on our wing who doubled the amount of goals Kudus had last season then?

Or perhaps want us to put in a big for Elanga who has similar numbers to Kudus who will cost Newcastle around £60m?

This window is a real opportunity for Levy to cut some of the players disastrously high wages off the books. Sonny and Romero out, Solomon and Takai in.
Agree - If he's brave, I think we could get the wage bill vs revenue % under 33%…. Would be a huge achievement and give me and my fellow football data nerds something amazing to debate and discuss. High ethics, doing it the right way it’s what it’s about

Let’s show some real ambition/courage and get our wage to turnover ratio below 30%!!! After all - TO DARE IS TO DO, my friend.

We would have pretended to try and sign them though . The Argentinians moved the goalposts , Gazza’s agent fucked it up , Klinsman always wanted ShrewsburyTown it was his boyhood club

What has my opinion on Kudus being overpriced got to do with my feelings on Johnson? Oh and that also means I must want Elanga as well. Solid reasoning there mate, well done

Because if your get out of your feelings you're actually realise that the price is the symptom of the market, not the player.

You may feel he's 'overpriced' but you're talking about a Premier League established player/winger with untapped potential, he's not gonna cost £30m mate.

So this good player Kudu is worth £60-80 m and our player Kulu, HIGHLY rated by oppo fans , is worth £20m?
Celtic just sold a forward you have never heard of for £20m and posters here think Solomon is only worth the same?
