Again not what I meant but I worded it badly. What I’m saying is, we can’t just walk around saying we won the Europa in 2025 as a deflection for the fact that we aren’t ambitious.

I don’t know why so many fans are getting so sensitive. It’s a fact Woolwich are a far better team than we are, and they are far more ambitious. They are already far stronger and now they are signing much better players than we are. If people want to delude themselves into being happy about that then fine but really it’s unacceptable, we shouldn’t have to watch them be more ambitious than us.

Kudus would be a really good signing hopefully, but it’s not enough. We need much more
I don't envy Woolwich in the slightest under Arteta. Fair play to their board for backing him as well as strongly as they have but he's the wrong horse imo.

We're different teams in different cycles under different ownerships, we've been the more successful since Arteta took over.

Woolwich finished 9 points above Nottingham Forrest last year, they're not prime Barca.

Anyone backed us to do the CL and PL double after Daniel’s inspiring pep talk . I didn’t get involved after losing my shirt a few seasons back when his A level chat with NDombele filled me with belief. I’m beginning to think he is all fur coat and no knickers, or better still all top hat and no barnet .

Board at Woolwich completely showing Levy up. He just can't hide, but the fucker will.

He should be ashamed to see the difference in ambition between our rivals. Fuck Chelsea and the money clubs. There is no reason why we can't be showing ambition like Woolwich are. The fucker sits there and says we want to win the league with a straight face, but then won't back the manager.

Woolwich showing how it's done. They are spending to win, and have every season. All you can ask for as a fan.

What the fuck are we doing at Spurs instead? It's pathetic. Levy is a con artist. He presents the illusion of us challenging, but Levy doesn't care, he'll be happy with a top 6 challenge and scraping into the CL if we are lucky. He just wants the money, not glory.

Remind me exactly what they spent last season to win the league?

What did they spend the summer before they finished 2nd 3 years ago?

They made 1 single 'lets try and win the league signing' in rice.... followed it up with no striker, no saka backup, no odegaard backup, no saliba backup.

I have no idea what youre chatting about dude.

You and the clowns who agreed should fuck off to arsemania.

Terrible take. Your bitterness overwhelms you.

Kudus is a good player and a good signing. Problem is he is only one player. People spend their time umming and aahing whether he is any good but miss the bigger point.

We need 5 or 6 quality signings like Kudus. We just dont do the numbers of ins and outs required to be competitive.

Chelsea have Estevao, Gittens and Pedro coming in. May even still bid for Kudus if they can sell a player or 2.

Woolwich have brought in Zubi and close to Gyokeres and want Rodrygo.

Everything is slow and doing the minimum at this club.

Levy is not going to buy 5 or 6 "quality signings".

What would one quality signing cost? 35-45 million? Levy isn't spending 200 million in a single transfer window.

Chelsea buy at a different level and have just been fined 30 million for breaking FFP rules, peanuts to them. We will never go down that route, a pointless conversation.

I very much doubt 'everything is slow at the club', Frank is in his fourth week, the remaining players return this week and he can then begin to assess the current squad, has agreed to the signing of two players and no doubt has sanctioned the Kudus approach. That's possibly three signings since Frank agreed to join us.

The clubs you talk of about signing players already have a manager of half a decade and one in his second season, not one who has been employed for less than a month, who hasn't met half of his squad.

The counter argument would be to say why are we buying players when Frank hasn't assessed the squad, discussed the futures of Son and Romero with the players and Levy, plus the players he has already deemed surplus to requirements?

Who the fuck do you think you support?

Not spurs.

Our two best players are our CBs , if fit I still keep Jan and Toby over them . Recruitment has been abysmal post Poch

post Poch? Poch is where it started TBH.

I don't think we can say it has been abysmal - we have at least two great CBs, a bunch of really promising young ones, Danso looks solid, and Dragusin might too when he's not expected to cover half a pitch sprinting.
With our previous best pairing, one of them came in the AVB era (pre Poch).
No particular grumbles with the wing backs, with a bit of depth needed.
CM has Bergvall, Bentancur, Sarr who are very decent options. Biss should go IMO as he blows hot and cold too much
GKs we have Vic - who isn't perfect but has still been very good. Kinsky looked good too when he had a defence in front of him.
AM we have Maddison and Kulusevski as great AMC options .
Foward options are Son/Tel/Richi/Brennan who are quite flexible and can probably do any of a wing/CF role.
Solanke CF
Then Soloman/Odobert as wing options.
That's not even all the depth (Gil, Veliz, Scarlett, Gray, Yan MH, Davies, etc. etc.)

It is a million miles off being a bad squad. It is nonetheless a squad that was won a trophy, which is a lot more than can be said for previous player - regardless of circumstances.

It was supposed to be only about injuries when everyone was making excuses for Ange

Most of these players don’t get a sniff in Poch’s team . However if you think the squad is decent that is your prerogative , personally I think we are miles off . We need 3 quality experienced signings as a min in my opinion. One thing we can probably agree on is it is not happening

Our worst transfer business was 2016 through to 2019 - our best incoming players Moura and Sanchez neither of whom really cemented a starting place.

Plus Poch stopped youth development in its tracks by stopping players going on loan, which meant no pathway to Spurs first team leading to likes of Madueke joining PSV rather than stay at Spurs .....

So Poch great at coaching players scouted before he joined, but a bad influence on replacing them.

Don't disagree - but worth remembering that most of Poch's team did not arrive as ready made - eg Eriksen was a good player at a middle ranking club, as was Vertonghen, whilst Alderweireld same other than he'd mistakenly moved to Madrid who didn't play him etc.

Most of the Poch team became top players at Spurs - and we hope a number of Spurs current squad develop similarly
