Fair play to Levy. My poem also seemed to help get him over the line.

Two elite player signings. At last we are doing what so many of us have been crying out for.

Going out on a limb a bit here, but with Frank in charge I think this is now a top 4 team. Some way off City and Liverpool, but I think we will finish above Woolwich this season

All I've heard over the past 24 hours is West Ham and Forest fans crying at the fact that we've taken two of their best players and wondering how we did it because we finished 17th! Do football fans have long term memory loss or something?, Do people think finishing that low is the norm for a club like ours? Did they think we were going to be permanently in the mud forever and they'd overtaken us or something? I was hearing the same from our fans as well as if relegation was a serious threat and even without these new signings there is gonna be a repeat of last season.

Mental some of the takes I keep hearing, things change very quickly in football - last season was shite but it was always going to be temporary and like it or not this board have kept us in and around the top 6 in recent years hence why we are apart of the top 6. That isn't going to change for the foreseeable - everyone just needs to play their part in the footballing food chain especially in the Premier League, everyone has a position and we will always be nearer to the top of this league than the bottom, money talks.

Depends what system(s) Frank has in mind and how deep our block will be. I suspect at home against bus parker’s he’ll play Maddison ans an 10 and Gibbs-White as a 8 with one CM (Bentancur) behind them . And away we’ll play a lower block with a double pivot (in which Bentancur and Bergvall could excel). Either way, we’ll have high quality back up in every position. Imagine taking off Tel, Gibbs-White, Kudus and Udogie after 60 mins and bringing on Son, Maddison, Kulusevski and Spence? With 5 subs we should see proper in-game management and rotation under Frank. The muscle strain injuries that dogged us under Ange will quickly become a distant memory.
Exactly.

pretty tedious the guys on this thread saying we must sell this player or that player. We have to manage contracts that are running down. We do have to manage the home grown/club trained numbers. But we don't have a problem re too many good players.

Interesting stat in there for Luiz. Duels contested 65, duels won 366!

Yep, let these guys fight it out - cream will always rise to the top and if that means that one of the players gets tired of lack of matches and wants to leave then so be it, we will always be a better team for it if we have good players vying for similar positions, it means they will push themselves and each other and we will improve, more competition = less complacency.

Seems like some people really struggle with the concept of squad depth!

I think there is a good argument for doing a one year extension on Biss's contract. See if he can play consistently well under Frank.

Not for me mate.

I get why you’d say that but generally speaking we’ve seen him in a bunch of systems and we know that his ceiling is elite but the floor is diabolical and he’s not consistent across a full season.

He will do great in Türkiye and we can get some resale from him. He bows out a winner and always welcome back

Wharton is a great player but the current squad needs more defensive minded than progresive. Had we not bought Gibbs White I would be ok with Wharton type.

Or if we ok to spend that kind of money , then we should test the waters with Zaire Emery from PSG. Rather him than Wharton.

Not for me, we need more solid players who are pretty much dependable in every game. The way things are looking at the club and how recruitment is going, there's an excellent chance we can upgrade. He could and should be a superb footballer but there's something stopping that and we need to look for the one to replace that will make a bigger difference to the team week in week out.
