Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Italian clubs never have any money. Until they do
They are the absolute kings of the structured deal and loan-to-buys, putting everything on layaway for years, then bailing themselves out with player sales. It's such common practice over there you could virtually call it "the Italian model" of transfers. They were the only big league in Europe still doing co-ownership right up until FIFA banned it.

Could do with a few outs now couldnt we. Gil, Solomon etc. even some kids out on loan. We’ve too many players and aren’t shelling enough so far.
I'd be amazed if we get a fee for Gil at this point, we've had him in the shop window in his native country for 3 years with very achievable options in his last 2 loan deals and his wages are realistic for La Liga and we still haven't had a fucking sniff. He'll be off on a free next summer.
Solomon I expect the club have an idea what they want in their head and happy to keep him and see if he can be of use to Frank if no one comes up with it, don't really get why some people are so adamant he needs to leave after the season he's just had with Leeds, we're gonna play at least 50 games next season, we have had many players do a job for us in better sides than this one who were probably not as good as Solomon, looking at Sigurdsson, Chadli and Dempsey in particular by way of comparison. He literally has 6 games in a Spurs shirt, dunno how he could possibly have been written off on such a small sample size.

Seems like a total waste of time from Forest's perspective.

The deal will happen anyway, but he'd rather waste his and the clubs time on this when it could be used to get more players in that they desperately need having sold two big players already.

What I can't understand is why they are wasting their own time in a state of flux in the middle of a transfer window.

It can be said that we are in the same situation but Levy knows that Forest are in a no win situation.

I hope this get's resolved this week, but Marinakis needs to look at how stupid he is being about this when the blame lays firmly at his door.

When the dust settles he will fires someone over this.

Because we can’t have a 31 player squad for next season. Keep Solomon where does that leave Moore? Solomon is a non-HG so you want to keep him instead of Tel? Or Kinsky? Or Danso?

There have to be sacrifices to fit the best 25 (or more likely 21 given our lack of club trained players). And Solomon has value to the promoted teams. So I say sell.

I reluctantly agree. I'm a big Wharton fan and he looks the real deal to me from those fa cup performances last season. But he still hasn't fully broken into the England team and made that position his. He also started the season pretty poorly before missing a few months through injury which seems to have been forgotten due to his few epic fa cup performances. Very easy to make a case for him being overrated from that small sample of games.

I'd love him at Spurs and think he has all the potential to become one the best midfielders in the league. But he's not there yet and the 80m+ price tag is a bit mad. I'd agree that 50-60m is fair. I still think he has alot to prove to make it.
I've seen a fair bit of Wharton and he is top class imo, they'll want £80m. The reason he started the season slowly according to my mate who's a palace fan is because he was playing with the injury and they were putting off the surgery, once he'd had it he was incredible

It's called memory foam for precisely the opposite reason you think it is. The "memory" is for it to return back to its original state, not stay in the form it took after you've put your foot on it. You can do that with latex or alginate.
Ok. Still, my question remains. What's the use case, what's it good for? Why are they using it in shoes.
