It's almost like these wee graphic stat thingies basically mean fucking dick all really.
or that Hojbjerg was criminally underrated on here and slagged off at every opportunity.

I still remember the hardons people had when Ange screamed "pass it forward" at hojbjerg in a pre season game.

If we are going in for Wharton we need to get in now and give Palace time to look at new players. No good leaving it till last few days of window to offer 80m-100m when they have no time to find a good replacement. Be another Guehi (we tried) situation from last window.

If Juve are really proposing to come to terms to buy out Vlahovic's contract and he can be persuaded to accept realistic wages for his talent level I think he would be a no brainer to replace Richy who can then be shipped out for any amount really. I don't think Vlahovic is a top 4 level PL striker but he has different qualities to Dom and would be available for far more games than Richy. If there's any kind of chance that a move to the PL and working under Frank could recapture his best from when he was at Fiorentina on a free transfer it's a no brainer for me.
May be hit this is the kind of shit that has us where we are now. A bunch of average players who no one wants. We need to add quality not polyfilla.

I reluctantly agree. I'm a big Wharton fan and he looks the real deal to me from those fa cup performances last season. But he still hasn't fully broken into the England team and made that position his. He also started the season pretty poorly before missing a few months through injury which seems to have been forgotten due to his few epic fa cup performances. Very easy to make a case for him being overrated from that small sample of games.

I'd love him at Spurs and think he has all the potential to become one the best midfielders in the league. But he's not there yet and the 80m+ price tag is a bit mad. I'd agree that 50-60m is fair. I still think he has alot to prove to make it.
Kind of agree on the valuation. As for England I would go to much by that as TT is a knob who brings back a half cooked hendo and aging burns. As well as rashford. He has ditched a lot of the young players carsley bought in and to his credit even boregate. There is no way in the world any serious manager would play hendo over Wharton. I’m just glad we skipped TT. He would have been terrible for spurs.

We have spent over close to 700 million on players in the last 3 years (and this window is still open, with more incomings expected).

We haven't spent that money to finish 6th to 8th...nor even 3rd for that matter. For that money, we need to be mounting a title challenge and, challenging for the Champions League.
It’s been wasted on poor player selection.

Well we got gray for £40m. Wharton cost palace 20M and is older than gray. We could have gone for him in Jan 24. I reckon with him in the squad he would have seen us through that tricky period and we may have held onto CL.

Brighton signed him the Summer of 23, he wasn't the player that he is now - he's improved to this level as he's been nurtured.

Why don't you give Gray a chance to improve instead of writing him off?
