Get the feeling he has something akin to a mild long COVID/ME.

Last season at Villa he looked to be struggling, looked kind of gaunt within his frame, at times. Pale shadow of himself. Thought to myself what I was seeing was why Villa were happy sellers (PSR aside).

If it’s a thing and the better weather of Italy hasn’t sorted it (given peoples exasperation at his further decline in Italy), best avoided.

If anybody can get him going again though, as a snarling fighting mid, it’s Moyes.

But I agree, he totally jumps off the screen every time I watch them, he's the opposite of the invisible nothingness of so many of their high-priced players, a guy who grabs the game by the scruff of the neck.

I think it is more that he kept on getting played behind a waste of space like Rashford and has just had enough of the club. He wants out because it is such a dumpster fire. A player would be utterly bonkers to go there unless they just want the money..
