I just want to know,what happens if he gets injured during this tour? (Other than this being completely Spurs and if it’s his hamstring then he’s a perfect fit!)

But seriously, he goes on tour, does his ACL and then what? The release was triggered all along?

Liverpool from what I understand from my biased family on my Mum’s side (all from Liverpool)

1 have a great scouting system

2 often go seasons with minimal spending when they don’t need to spend. For example Slot inherited mostly just the Klopp squad and got the final bit of juice out of it.

3 unlike us when the time comes for an update they go full force and if they need to spend £300-400m in just one window they will to fix all the issues in their squad. They might then not spend for a while. So if they get 6-7 players now they might not do fuck all next year but that is ok because their squad is fixed.

4 pay a bit more in wages which enables them to look at the best class of players.

Their net spend over the last 5 years or so is lower than ours. We can learn from them. We can’t learn from the likes of Chelsea and City who have dodgy fake money pumped in but we can learn from Liverpool. It’s why I think we need to fix the 6 role with an elite player, if Liverpool where in our position they would assess is Baleba or Wharton the right player and go for it.

A ‘Liverpool’ summer for us would be MGW, a top DM, Kudus and possibly a top draw LB, CF and RW. Then we wouldn’t spend much for 2-3 seasons but it would mean the squad wouldn’t need much anyway. Our overall spending over 5 years wouldn’t change but the quality of players and having a full fixed squad would.
